People just don’t seem to realise that Connery only used the Bond, James Bond line in 1/2 of his EON films. He never said the line in From Russia With Love, THunderball or You Only Live Twice.

Connery also only ordered his SNS Martini a couple of times. Moore never ordered it. Only Dalton and Brosnan had both lines in all their films.

No Bond, James bond is pure bull. Heck Bond doesnt even have to say it. Someone else could utter the line and I would be satisfied. I have been watching Bond movies since 1965 and that line is a tradition! I say Boycott this movie! No MoneyPenny, No Q, no gadgets! Lets not turn Bond into Bourne.

Mmmm I liked the way they handled that line in the first filme, it was a nice ending

Typically of the media, this story is b*ll*cks.

The first movie that he DIDN’t say “Bond, James Bond” was Thunderball, followed by “You Only Live Twice”, so it’s the first time in 41 years that he hasn’t used the phrase.

As someone who has read all the Ian Fleming Bond books, I have to agree that Casino Royale did return to that darker, grittier feel. With very few exceptions, the books never gave Bond anything other than his gun and his attitude with which to get out of trouble. I found them better than the movies in many cases, though the movies were still highly entertaining.

As for the lines lacking from this movie, I have no problem with that. If they don’t work with the tone of the scenes in which they were scripted to appear, then it’s better to ditch them. Nothing prevents them from making a return appearance in a future movie.

Good observations Rev, (how many times have you seen Casino Royale?).

Here’s the scenes I would like to see….

Bar hostess/(behind desk, looks like supermodel)
“reservations, sir?”

Bond/(walking in under cover, looks irratated)
“Glazer, Jack Glazer……”

See its the same delivery but with an alias,,, clever huh?
(Is that how you spell alias?)

Then they could have this scene.
^
Intro nightclub
Bartender/(behind bar, looks metrosexual)
“How would you like your martini sir?”

Bond/(sitting in barstool, looks extreamly pissed)
“Get me a beer!”

That’s it, that’s the scene! He just mad dogs him and says “get me a beer..”. Is that genius or what ?

Sure is a busy day at work ,,,

Well it depends on proper inflection, and the scene…

If done right, it could get huges laughs.

I can see how neither line would make it into the movie. The introduction “Bond, James Bond,” essentially takes place at the beginning of the day that starts the second movie ( the very end of the first one– in the trailer with Bond coming up over the horizon on the far right he’s wearing the same suit and has the same weapon from the last scene of the first movie ).

So he’d be just sort of repeating himself within a short period of time. And for the “Shaken, not stirred,” line; I wonder if he’ll ever even be in a situation to order a martini? The movie looks like Bond is still building his armour back to that sociopathic smoothtalker we all know and love.

Yup, I’ve seen PG-13 films where they get away with ONE f-bomb.

Then again, it wouldn’t be very James Bondian, now would it.
