Maybe its just a personal thing. I would love to see a Green Arrow movie with Kiefer Sutherland as Oliver Queen. And i think some cool things could be done with the flash, but i want to see Superman done properly. Green Lantern just doesnt mean anything to me.

    @ DrSamBeckett
Howcome you dont want them to make a Green Lantern film? To me and people i know are glad a different hero other than Superman & Batman is gonna be on the silver screen. Last hero they tried to bring out was Steel. I actually cant wait to see this film and i hope films of The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow etc. will follow. Most likely i'll see Jonah Hex.

Right. I simply think, with pulling out of Australia already to save money and film in the states, with Reynolds attached to star as he is with many other things, and to be honest the subject matter is hardly fantastic as it is, that maybe it wont get made.
My real hope is that it doesnt get made and they will funnel the millions of dollars into a Superman project, which the public actually want to see.

Why does everyone keep talkin about height? With camera angles and all the technical stuff the could make JEH look 6'5 or taller. Look at how tall they made Dolph Lundgren look in Rocky IV and how short they had the actors look as Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings movies. Height isn't an issue. I think JEH is the best possible choice.
  • Monique
I think he would be great in that part. He can pull it off!

I was born and raised in the town "breaking away was filmed in" about a year after the filming of it and oscar nominations for best screen play. and I have been a fun of jackies since i was a wee little boy watching him break a the punch in clock at the car wash on walnut street in bloomiongton indiana always thrills me. and that he has again filmed IN Indiana Gary to be exact for a dream sequence in the new nightmare on elm street makes me happy. He is quickly becoming one of americas best and brightest actors and im so damb thrilled for him. I can tell he is more then ready for this success and he is doing such a good job.. Congrats Regardless of being in the green lantern.. Although he would be a perfect choice.. He said basicly the same thing about the role of freddy when the film was in pre-production at comic con or something for mystery men. You rock jackie

maybe he has the same gift as that little girl in "the knowing"- except you know... with movies lol

INK, he's just being the negative Nancy that he is on seemingly every post on here.

    @ DrSamBeckett

Did you "leap" back to this time to make SURE it doesn't get made, or are you just guessing?
  • DrSamBeckett
This movie will NOT get made. Simples.

If he grew a mustache, i think Bradley Cooper could still be involved in the film by having him be Sinestro. He could look at it this way, the villain gets to have more fun, lol. Eric Braeden seems like a good choice if he was younger. I think he'd be too old for the part. I definately dont wanna see Burt Reynolds in the role, lol.
  • Hammie 111
I may be reaching here but I think I know another man who could be perfect as Sinestro. Eric Braeden (Victor on The Young and the Restless. I saw a picture of him on my wife's soap opera digest and he looks perfect and he has played a 'grey, borderline' character before.

    Take a look: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000967/

My bad, sorry to herman. Thought it was me since his comment was after mine.
  • @chrisj

Thanks. And no, it wasn't directed at you.

    @ Vic
Was Hermann's post aimed towards me or someone else? Btw, sorry for my own rude language in the past.
  • Jago
Aww man i wanted to see it... And is that "fond" part of your comment vic a mistake that were not supposed to be a jerk while pointing it out...lol. Either way... This is one of the reasons i love this site... A rumor yesterday, a response tommorrow. Can't wait for news on the Sinatra biopic though...
  • Paul Young
Without Herman's comment mine wouldn't really make much sense. I asked Vic to delete it as well. Sorry for the info "malfunction" guys. I'll be a little more conscious next time.
  • I nuked Herman's comment. If you can't point out a mistake without being a jerk then you should find some other place to hang out.

    @ Hermann
LMAO. Who taught you how to read. Nothin in my post states Universal is makin the GL film. Anyone in the right mind knows WB hold rights to DC comic characters.
  • Andy S
And perhaps Herman should just stop going on the internet if he's going to get all upset over a mistake in a BLOG post. Sheesh, talk about over reacting. Keep on that path and you're going to have a heart attack.

Thanks for the info, Paul. I think JEH is too short for the role, but I think he'd do the role justice. I just think Hugo Weaving would be SO much better in it.
  • chrisj
I respect Jackie Earle Harley as a actor and wish him well in the Nightmare On Elm Street film but i agree he would appear too short playin Sinestro when he'll face Ryan Reynolds. And the Sinestro issue is somthing i dont want to see WB mess up on, especially with this being the first Green Lantern film. As for a Clark Kent/Superman cameo, im not holding my breath. Sounds like a long shot with all the issues surrounding Superman w/ WB right now.
  • rastaZen
I think JEH is a terrific actor and he could definitely do a good job as Sinestro.
Sure he's short but if they can make Ian Holm look like a wee hobbit they can make JEH as tall as Ryan Reynolds- easily.
  • M-Cat
When they say superman appears in the movie it could mean that Clark Kent makes an appearance but you never know.
