Zombie comedy iZombie may have been off the air for almost a year, but next month, it's back and looking better than ever. Since the season 3 air date of April 4 was announced, fans have been treated to a new promo video and revolution-inspired poster -- both of which points toward a big showdown for the third season. At the end of season 2, a second zombie outbreak at a Max Rager party ended in a bloodbath, and the reveal that there are even more zombies in Seattle than Liv (Rose McIver) first thought -- and that some of them are organizing for war.

Now, a new promo for the upcoming season continues to focus on the eventual stand off between humans and zombies, while a new poster takes a decidedly more chill stance on the season's storyline.

The advert, titled 'New Enemy' starts with Liv and her friends sitting at home, promising 'no more big secrets' among the group. Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) has just found out about zombies, leaving the entirety of Liv's core group in the loop. From there, the promo sees both Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage) and Major (Robert Buckley) asking what will happen when humans find out -- and suggesting that they won't take too kindly to the zombies in their midst. The clip also includes title cards reading 'Team Z is back with a new enemy. The human race".

iZombie Season 3 Poster

This promo continues to push the human/zombie conflict, and the appearance of Vivian Stoll suggests that she will be playing a much bigger role in season three, having only appeared in two episodes at the end of season 2 so far.

Presumably, fans won't see an outright war between humans and zombies just yet (as that would take the series in a totally new direction), but it would be interesting to see more of the organized zombie society. So far, zombie culture in the series has been driven largely by the manipulative Blaine DeBeers (David Anders), so it will be interesting to see how Stoll's corner of the zombieverse has been living.

However, fans looking for some more hints at exactly what's ahead will be left disappointed. The promo is short and sweet, but doesn't give anything new. Instead, it backs up the message of 'human v zombie' arc seen in previous promos. It also doesn't show any new characters, which would be nice to see as we know that Ravi's (Rahul Kohli) old boss from the CDC is going to show up this season, and he will presumably not be the only new face in town.

iZombie season 3 premieres Tuesday, April 4 on The CW.
