Michael Keaton is under 6 feet, yet he made a good Batman, who is over 6 feet in the comic. The men who are massively muscular don't have the acting talent that Pitt has. IMHO, Pitt would do well in this role.

Hell no, Brad Pitt for Thor! Thor is massively swole, well over six feet, and poweful enough to go mano i mano with the Hulk and more than hold his own. Having Pitt in platform shoes trying to play Thor is a bad idea. There are others who can play this role not the same two or three actorws brought up all the time.

Since big name Robert Downey Jr. worked for Iron Man, I guess Marvel feels an even bigger name for Thor could bring in even more moolah. Pitt was perfect for Achilles, so I think he would be also for Thor.

I think if you saw Stardust, I think Matthew Vaughn would have done an excellent job on Thor. Now that he is not involved they will be hard pressed to find a director who truly understands the fantasy genre that this movie falls into. There is alot of history to Thor besides the comic book and it will be difficult to do it justce without making it campy. I would love to see Asgard on the big screen by Odin's beard!!

I think that Vladimir Kulich who played Buliwyf in the 13th Warrior with Antonio Banderas would be perfect for Thor!!!

NOT SO SURE ABOUT THOR.
MABEY MARVEL SHOULD JUST GO STRAIGHT FOR THE AVENGERS MOVIE AND INTRODUCE THESE CHARACTERS THROUGH THAT TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. IRON-MAN AND THE HULK SHOULD BE BIG ENOUGH TO BE THE STARS. LIKE X-MEN THERE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH ROOM TO FULLY EXPLORE EACH HERO BUT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO PLEASE US FAN-BOYS THAT WANT TO SEE THEM ALL ON SCREEN TOGETHER.

I agree Kahless. Thor could be epic, but my director picks are the following:
Guillermo del Toro(Hellboy 1 and 2,BladeII,Hobbit)
Zack Snyder(300)
Robert Zemeckis(Beowulf)
Ron Howard (Willow)
Chris Weitz(The Golden Compass)
Mark Waters (The Spiderwick Chronicles)

IMHO, Any of those directors could easily do better than Matthew Vaughn. :)

Can we get Favreau to direct this, PAHLEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSE!!! Thor was one of my favorite Marvel characters growing up. If you can go head-to-head with the Incredible Hulk, you must be the bomb. This movie can be just as good as Iron Man, with the right guy behind it.
