They wouldn't cast Pacino even if he wanted it; it's too distracting. No big-name villains in Bond, not ever. Back when they were writing Goldeneye, they originally intended the villain to be a father figure and were going to cast Anthony Hopkins, but decided it would be too distracting. I'm not sure who originally came up with this, but it is indeed a fanboy dream. No way. They wouldn’t cast Pacino even if he wanted it; it’s too distracting. No big-name villains in Bond, not ever.
