i find it hard to believe also. although i would LOVE pacino in a bond movie, there is a crucial pattern being ignored. the point of a James Bond movie is for James Bond to be the central figure. The one you are always watching. That’s why bad guys have never been superstars. Sean Bean may be the biggest name of a bad guy yet. That’s not saying much.

But, Sean Bean was barely on the radar before James bond though. Afterward his career got much much bigger. Although it was probably Lotr that did it.

Maybe they *should* cast Pacino as a villain; it’s about time for those Bond villains to “man up.” Why does almost every Bond villain have to be a wuss? Imagine a Bond villain who guzzles beer and has to be rolled out of an all-you-can-eat steak dinner. Now THAT would be a Bond film worth seeing.

“…so they don’t have to rely on stunt casting to bring in audiences.”

Why didn’t they think of that for License to Kill?

I heard that Hasselhoff was the villian.

I wouldn’t mind Paccino in the film but do you guys realise how short of an actor he is.
He’s like maybe 5ft tall. When I saw him in real life I
was like that Chicago song (Baby whata big surprise!).

No way. They wouldn’t cast Pacino even if he wanted it; it’s too distracting. No big-name villains in Bond, not ever.

Back when they were writing Goldeneye, they originally intended the villain to be a father figure and were going to cast Anthony Hopkins, but decided it would be too distracting.

I’m not sure who originally came up with this, but it is indeed a fanboy dream.

Aww horse doodles my neighbor was at a premiere with Pacino in attendence. If I would have read this sooner I would have got him to ask him.
