The fans who have been dreaming of stepping into Tony Stark's metal shoes in Marvel's Iron Man VR will have to wait a little longer, as the game has been delayed from February to May. Marvel's Iron Man VR was announced for PlayStation VR during the March 2019 Sony State of Play event and the first trailer showed Stark fighting enemies in the sky and blasting them with his repulsor rays.

Marvel's Iron Man VR uses two PlayStation Move controllers in order to control Stark's hands, which can be used to both target enemies and change how he moves around areas. The buzz surrounding the game has been positive so far, even though it has already been delayed at least once in the past. Marvel's Iron Man VR was delayed to 2020 after being slated for a 2019 release.

Marvel's Iron Man VR is the latest major game to receive a delay over the past few days, as developer Camouflaj has revealed on Twitter that the game has been pushed back to May 15. No specific reason was given for the delay, though it's likely that the game just needs more playtesting and polish based on the short length of the delay.

There have been a lot of high profile delays recently, with Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII Remake both being pushed back. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed to September and the multiplayer component has been pushed back to 2021. Final Fantasy VII Remake has been delayed to April, which means that it was only pushed back a few weeks from its original release. Marvel's Avengers has also been delayed to September 4. All of the developers of these games cited a need for more playtesting time and a little extra polish to bring them in line with fans' expectations.

Marvel's Iron Man VR is shaping up to be one of the most impressive PlayStation VR games of the year and many outlets have praised the game's control scheme as being a natural fit for the license. The 2020 gaming schedule has been thrown into chaos over the past few days, but at least gamers will now have an easier time choosing between new titles. The February/March/April schedule was over-saturated, but these recent delays have helped spread things out and made things less competitive among the high profile titles, which means that other games have a better chance of being noticed and won't be trampled on in sales. As such, the delay of Marvel's Iron Man VR is a positive thing, especially if it needs that extra bit of polish to make it as good as it can possibly be.
