Are you ready for an Iron Man movie overdose? You can watch the new TV spot for Iron Man below, plus, Paramount has updated the official website for the movie, AND there are a bunch of new images from the movie as well!
The clip below show a lot of new footage and it’s very “hip.” It’s designed to intrigue people who’ve probably not heard of the movie yet and as far as that I think it works well. For people who’ve been following the movie for months, while it does show a lot of new footage, it seems kind of… I don’t know.. like candy, if that makes any sense. Yeah, it’s cool, but I’m not sure if it makes me more excited about the movie like everything else I’ve heard and seen so far does.

The CGI seems kind of unfinished to me in some spots in the clip above, and for some reason it seems painfully hip to me.
Finally, here are just some of the new images that have been added to the updated Iron Man website.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr. and his driver (bodyguard?) Happy Hogan (director Jon Favreau)

Tony Stark and his best friend Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes (Terrence Howard)

Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), a Stark Industries executive who ends up being an arch enemy to Iron Man

Tony Stark works on the Mark III Iron Man armor

The Mark II armor in flight

Iron Man not doing so well against an adversary

HEROES AREN’T BORN – THEY’RE BUILT
Great commercial!
Loved “Yeah, I can fly.”
The shot fired in the last scene was a great signoff. (Obviously he was wearing the Flip Them The Bird Armor there.)
Thats Jeff Bridges, not Beau
Future Boy: Corrected, thanks. I always get them confused.
I was trying to crank out the post quickly.
Vic
I loved it! Yeah, one or two CGI-ish shots, but I loved seeing new stuff! I’m lovin’ it!

Great job getting on this so quickly Vic. I’m stoked, man. Everytime I see this stuff I wish I would’ve put that Chicago gathering together that we discussed….
Well, I think the Huyndai Genesis commercials featured Jeff Bridges’ voice. Can’t get enough of The Dude! I think Iron Man’s gonna show just how awesome Jeff’s range is!

I didn’t like the TV spot nearly as much as the trailer. But I will say it’s the only part of the Superbowl that I watched closely.
My bf is from Boston, so tonight was very painful for him.
I can relate to that too Liz I am olso from Boston, and seeing the Pats wining streak end was one of the painfull thing to see. But on the plus side the trailer is greate.
PS
what about the Hulk trailer, I thought they were going to show that during the Super Ball.
I hope to see SOMETHING soon about Hulk.

ps-As a Dolphins fan, we’re all relieved the 2007 season didn’t get worse.
I really thought they’d surprise us with a Hulk trailer, but I guess not.
Vic
Endri, I’ve about had it with your not using a valid email address to post here. I’m tired of the bounced messages in my inbox due to it.
I know you’re a regular visitor but I need you to use an email address that is valid when you post a comment.
Vic
I got your Hulk trailer right here:
Vic Mad! Vic Smash! Puny Endri!
That was Fracken sweet! The Tony and Happy pic is my new background.
Also YEAH GIANTS!!! I loved when they sacked Brady with about 20 some seconds to go to add insult to injury, and then Belicheat running off the field like he just pooh beared his pants. It was a good Super Bowl for me.
Looks real good.

Ques:
So the Director also plays a role in the film?
holy piss that was amazing!!!!
the song in the background is cochise by audioslave
this is going to be a kickass movie!
No, you’re right about the commercial.
It seemed immature and a little corny whereas every previous ad was incredible and made you excited.
I actually thought the new ad made the movie seem weaker
Wow.. it’s looking cooler with each extra tidbit!!
Why is it that the Mark II armor looks only like an unpainted version of the Mark III? I only see some slight difference in the epaulettes and the gauntlets.
It would have been better if the Mark II looks visibly inferior and different compared to the Mark III, because otherwise the transition from Mark I to II to III wouldn’t seem so dramatic. The Mark II is very different from the Mark I, but unfortunately the Mark III looks like a Mark II with a coat of paint.
IT WAS AMAZING!!! Had a youth feel to it. I watched the superbowl in BW3 and it recieved LOTS of WOWS. Thanks Vic for the spot and pics so expresso!
Vic,
For the IM hardcore, the spot was a little too sweet, but believe that it was wiser to go that direction for getting the largest silver screen audience(the teens)that don’t know IM in the seats.
Steve, yes, Favs has a minor role in the film.
Jae Senn, from what I’ve seen so far of the Mark II, I have to say I agree with you. There are some rivets on the chestplate that aren’t visible on the Mark III, but aside from that it’s pretty darned close.
Rob, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought so.
Adrian, on the flip side, yes, I agree that it was aimed more at the general audience and as far as that goes it was probably very effective.
Whew!
Vic
Jim Carey FU. Vic is thise adress good.
A warrior does not hide under armor!! Iron Man has no honor!!! petaQ!!
Yeah, whatever.
)
I want the IM promos to stop. I couldn’t get anymore hyped about this and this last trailer will get butts in the seats. I just feel too much of the movie will be shown through these trailers.
Also, I think the Mark 3 had more functions than the Mark 2, stronger armor and more effective weapons.
Hey John, where did you see that ridiculous “warrior” comment? Dumbest comment ever…
Vic
Klingon humor just dosnt work on a Monday. John.

I’m not diggin the fact that the director is in the film.
But I’m prob the only one….

Sure glad football seasons over!
I REALLY liked the spot, but it gave me some concerns. The CGI at the end looked unfinished. I agree with others have said, this spot was intended to appeal to the masses who haven’t heard of the movie yet. So with that, I am withholding any harsh criticism (which is only nitpicking anyway).
Steve, why the concern for the director appearing in the film? Fav is an actor. My only concern is he played Foggy Nelson in the Daredevil movie as Affleck’s sidekick. Hmmm… I’m embarassed to admit I remember the DD movie. I guess Paramount/Marvel is banking on us forgetting that one.
Heck, Favreau played the twisted dentist in one of my favorite Monk episodes. Everyone should check that out. You can see how much better shape he is now as well…
Hmm. This goes back to the interview Vic posted up a few days ago.
His responses to some of the questions seemed odd to me. Now I think I know why, (he’s an Actor).

Most directors don’t create roles for themselves in the films there Directing. I’m not saying that this film will be bad due to this minor thing but it does make me say “hmmm, this film could have problems”.
Sure it looks great but…….well see.
I’ve been on sets before and when a director has to spend time in wardrobe and make-up to do be in the film he’s shooting. Trust me the entire crew thinks a little less of him.
^
Ok, bring it.
I have to admit I like the Audioslave in this spot better than Sabbath. Sabbath is too obvious, and dare I say, antiquated.
Can’t say I’m as excited about this movie as some of the *other* posters on here… (I thought I had accidentily loaded an IM fansite
I kid…
Seriously though, I’m not a huge fan of Stark as a character. I mostly just enjoy when he clashes with other Marvel heroes
