Hey, congrats on your 1000th post!! That’s so great … but then, you do a great job.

Love this new poster and all the hype that’s being generated almost continuously. Isn’t it exciting that the studio is keeping IM in the news …. and that, in turn is helping to make it the 6th most anticipated movie in the next 12 months!! That’s awesome!! I must get to B&N to pick up RS …. wow! can you imagine getting Tony’s point of view from inside the helmet??? It all sounds so amazing to me.

Got to preview the Blue Angels the day before Fleet Week started and I was just imagining Iron Man outmaneuvering them …. what a rush that was. BTW… they were gorgeous as usual. Their maneuvers are so awesome. But IM will be better …..

Joyce,

Your enthusiasm is infectious. :-D

Congrats on your 1000th post. I have become an Iron Man fan by means of my son (Cap is still my favorite). From all of the Marvel All-Age books we read, my son has picked Iron Man as his favorite. I only wish I could take him to see this movie when it comes out (he is only 6)! As far as more directorial comments from Jon Favreau I stumbled across a new Reelz Channel link to an interview:

KEL says:

Aww,dude! I watch Reelz Channel all the time, especially Dailies, and today I caught their review with Jon Favreuo (spelled right?). It was an awesome bit of good news IMO.

Hey,Erds,I thought I was the only person here who liked Cap! Now I don’t feel so alone anymore! He and IM are my fave Marvel characters.

1,000 posts….that’s amazing. Great job Vic & Co.

Now that’s good Vic!! It’s is the one thing I will try to “give” everyone!! I hope everyone in the whole universe will be as excited as I am about Iron Man! Downey is going to do such an awesome job …. yes, he really does OWN TONY STARK!! I believe those are your words, Vic !!!!

And Erds … thanks for the link. Just watched the delightful Mr. Favreau (talk about infectious!!) … Robert and the incredible cast and great shots of the Audi R8.

Hey, if anyone sees “THE t-shirt” please let me know where to get it. I really would love one and I can think of a zillion friends who would just die if they found one under the Christmas tree!!! ;-}

Screen Rant says:

Thanks for the link to that interview… I hadn’t seen it. Nothing really new there though.

Thanks for the kind words!

For the boot and palms to use repulsor technology for propulsion, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise because the missiles that the military was testing were based on Stark Industries’ new proprietary repulsor technology. Obviously the same stuff would have made it to the armor.

Screen Rant says:

That’s true. I only commented on it because in the comics the boots have used different technology than the repulsors for flight.

Congrads on your 1000th post and how vast is it that IM is ‘that’ post! I’d been reading post on ScreenRant for sometime, but didn’t comment here until I meet you on the Myspace IM forum.
Vic, everyone here would agree that you have a exclusive professional site. For me, Screen Rant has become one of my most reliable and favorite sites for movie news and comments. The community here is very civil, opening-minded and full of excitement and the new writers (Heath McKnight, Kane Adrian)have been and are great additions to the site. Keep up the fantastic work; looking forth to the next 1000th post!

Love how JFav is using replusors for both flight and offense, would make for nice kicking attacks, but curious to how they explain when using the palm replusors as weapons how the thrust does not push IM away from opponent?
Crossing fingers for smart bombs on IM’s arsenol.

KEL says:

Huh…..I always thought this was a professional site.

Screen Rant says:

Adrian,

Thanks so much for your kind words… it means a lot to hear that from a regular reader. I really do try to provide a quality site for you guys!

Regarding the reaction of the repulsors, I’ve actually wondered the same thing.

Endri says:

Keep up the good work, for movie news these is my personal website.

Ironman John says:

Good work, Vic. I’m glad that your successful at doing something you love, man! Awesome updates, by the way…

Jae Senn says:

Yeah, about the repulsors.. in the Warren Ellis Extremis storyline, the repulsors were described as devices that generate a one-way push.. which means that they are reactionless, i.e. do not conform to the newtonian concept of action-reaction.

If that’s the case, then the repulsors shouldn’t be able to provide lift and thrust.. unless there’s some way to explain how it could be switched from newtonian mode for flight, to reactionless mode for offense.

Screen Rant says:

Exactly, unless they come up with some explanation, they should work for one method but not the other.

Vic

joyce says:

If I remember correctly, Stark controls everything in the suit with his mind. That would make it possible to switch back and forth instantly, to whatever mode he needs …. fighting or flying …. or maybe even a combination. What do you think?

joyce

Screen Rant says:

Depends on what direction they go and how advanced they make the armor. Back in the 80’s when Layton and Micheline were on the book it was mentally controlled, but when Warren Ellis handled the reboot it was all manual and they used the Extremis enhancement to bring the suit back up to the level it was at 20 years ago. :-)

Vic

joyce says:

Ah … then it may not be so simple. I love to know how things work but we may not be given all those deep,dark secrets!! We’ll have to wait and see. Thanks for the info Vic … there is much to learn. :-}
