Iron Man Grey Armor!
Apr 11, 2007 by Vic HoltremanWhat you’re looking at below is the real version of the first, prototype Iron Man armor from the movie!! This armor is known as the Mark I armor and I just saw that Superherohype posted that this image is officially released by Paramount.

Ok, now that I’ve calmed down a bit, it looks like the description of this armor I posted earlier was quite accurate. I’ll show it again here:
“As far as those rumors of the suit being all CG, well I have seen the first ‘grey suit’ made for his escape and it’s very awesome. It has all sorts of functioning parts on it. The one used for the most part is made with actual metal parts, there are several of each suit for different shots and the like. It looks much like the comic version but with a more realist home made look( he makes it out of spare parts that include Stark weapons). It does have the lit up power disc in the chest but no repulsor beams in the hands. He does however have weapons built into his gauntlets. If you read the recent comic re-telling of his origin you might have an idea what they are. Oh and they really work.”
It looks like Favreau is indeed being influenced heavily by Adi Granov’s designs. Click on this image for a larger version comparing Granov’s comic book design of Tony Stark’s first Iron Man armor and the design in the film:
I don’t see how fans of the comic book have anything to complain about with this amazing photo.

I think the armor resembles the original armor more than Adi’s art. With the exception of the helmet face.
Looks like the ‘War Machine’ model outfit, which is sort of like Iron MAn’s first model, but afterwards, he dons the orange and red armor, and this suit is taken over (or revamped) by someone else. Iron man and War machine are two different characters, supposedly, but Iron man always gets the glory (kinda like Angus is to his brother Malcolm Young, of ACDC)
I think that this movie is going to be super cool!!!..cant wait until it comes out!…
