Sounds all good to me.

I wish I knew more about the Iron man universe. Is this how it plays out in the comics, or are they taking their own spin on this relationship?

Giraffehead says:

Okay, I am back from reading War Machine’s back story, and it was dumb as hell (at least the version I read was). This seems to be a much better story of the development of War Machine.

War Machine in The Avengers? He will probably be an enemy but they’re giving away way too much info. Now we know he won’t die in Iron Man 2 if he appears in the avengers.

Jae Senn says:

From the pre-production videos that we’ve seen in numerous interviews, I firmly believe that Stark was forced by the government to hand in at least a part of his Iron Man tech for national defense purposes. So, after he has built his Mark 4 armor, he reluctantly gave away his Mark 2 armor to the government, hence the empty Mark 2 armor chamber in his Hall of Armors.

Rhodey brings the Mark 2 armor to Hammer, and as we’ve seen, he requested Hammer to put in everything from the M134 minigun to FN or HK full-auto assault rifles. The result is the awesome War Machine armor, which I suspect doesn’t have a powerful Arc Reactor, and doesn’t have JARVIS as the tactical operating system. Hence War Machine’s reliance on Hammer to co-exist and to co-operate.

However, it would appear that Whiplash managed to reverse-engineer an Arc Reactor. Hence, Hammer is interested in working with him, and providing him with superior armor technology in exchange for the reverse-engineered Arc Reactor because it is what Hammer could use to deploy a battalion of powered armor soldiers (something that could lead up to an Armor Wars storyline).

Tony’s experimenting with his own particle accelerator in his basement because he’s trying to research on particle physics and how he could come up with a more powerful alternative to the Arc Reactor. Possibly this is how he develops his Beta Particle Generator that powers his more advanced armors, up till the Mark 6 (if the toys are anything to go by).

Jae Senn,

Love your story, sounds really interesting because most of it sounds true to me as well..I dont understand though how War Machine and Iron Man turn against each other though..I know in the comics there is a growing friction between the 2 (Tony and Rhodes)..LOL I sure would love to see a Iron Man Vs. War Machine scence where because Tony only turned in a portion of Iron Man tech suit or refused to turn in the entire suit some how Rhodes gets a hold of the armor plans and tells Sam Rockwell to build him a machine with all the gaggets, Machine guns, etc he asks for then unexpectedly he finds Iron Man and trys to destory him or something.

@Jae Senn:

I like your idea of leading into the Armor Wars story line for IM3. I know Favereu(?) has mentioned several times that he’d like to get the Mandarin involved in the movies, but I really think the Armor Wars would translate soooooo much better on the big screen.

“War Machine in The Avengers? He will probably be an enemy”

@M-Cat
why would you say that?

Team Cheadle mos def

@ Panda

I’m only guessing that war machine would be an enemy in the avengers because of how things seem to be lining up in IM2. Stark and Rhodey are friends but because of the government interference I see friction building up between them. I guess we’ll see how it plays out.
