According to Military.com Iron Man 2 starts shooting less than a year from now, in March of 2009. The sequel to the awesome first film (PLEASE be good!) already has a release date set of April 30th, 2010.
ComingSoon.net did an interview with director Jon Favreau which revealed the following:
- They’re currently working on the extra features for the DVD. They have “hours and hours of stuff” that will eventually be released.
- Favreau still hasn’t been officially hired to direct the sequel.
- The plot for the second film is still up in the air.
- Due to the planned release schedules for Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, if he gets the Iron Man sequel, it’s likely that he won’t be directing Avengers due to them being released only one year apart.
In the interview he also talks about the “Demon in a Bottle” alcoholism story line from the comics as well as the classic Iron Man villain – The Mandarin, who was hinted at with the “Ten Rings” reference in the film. For a lot more click on the link below.
During the interview he happened to tell Coming Soon that:
“You guys were the only ones who gave a sh*t before Comic-Con.”
I guess he didn’t read Screen Rant back then…
