Favreau STILL hasent been hired?
He must be dealing with some tough negotiators.

Wow, I like the new format.

How on earth could they have Favreau wondering if he will be the director? If he doesn’t direct the new one, there will be a lot of people rebelling.

Something interesting (I backtracked through the articles) in the movie they apparently added Captain America’s shield to the scene where pepper walks in on tony as his machines are removing the Mk III armor (”This is not the most embarassing thing you’ve caught me doing. — That scene). But, looking at it in the trailer it clearly ISN’T there.

Something to check out when the DVD comes out…

Also, Adam Baldwin as Captain America… Might be something for the open discussion this week. :)

I love the Idea of Adam Baldwin as Cap. I’m a huge Baldwin fan and I think he would pull that off very well.

I was wondering what scene the shield was in in the movie. I totally missed that one.

And please not a Baldwin

Actually he is a good actor. But cannot picture him as Cap.

I just think it’s a nice little proved-ya-wrong situation that a year ago people were going “The bloke who directed Elf?? You’re having a laugh…” and now we’d all go to the mattresses for him.

I’m intrigued by the Cap’s shield thing, Zipper - what’s the story there?

Zachary said,

Yea, I didn’t believe Caps shield either. But I’ve seen some Youtube videos, which obviously have poor quality, I guess if you want to imagine it enough you can see it there. It is a blue disc shape object, but that’s about where it ends in my opinion.

They gotta get Favreau on board ASAP.

As for the avengers, I’m not sure its possible to get it done the year after Iron man 2, How can they film all that as well as Cap America after and have those actors do Avengers as well. I can easily see the avengers movie pushed back another year. As for thor, how come there’s been no movement on that still? It’s been in “pre-production” for ages with all these script re-writes.

As for the Iron sequel, I would love to see the drinky drinky story go through. I think its necessary to develop Stark’s character and bring him back to hero status by the end of that movie and into Avengers. It also will allow them to get Terrence into the Iron suit then to get his own war machine suit.

That’s the article where Kevin Feige confirms Cap’s shield was added to the scene in Iron Man. Plus a low quality pic…

Vic, hope you don’t mind me linking to another blog.

There is a Myspace post started by Favs yesterday or the day before. In there he is asking questions from fans like us. One of the questions asked to him was about the shield. He said he didnt had that idea, it was ILM who added that into the scene and surprised him with it. he said that after seeing it, he just went with it.

PS. why cant i write STARK on this again?

Everyone is wanting Jon on IM 2, but the big picture is wouldn’t he be better on Avengers. I’m willing to sacrifice IM for a good Avengers movie.

Gary said,

Delat the Avengers and concentrate on IM 2

I think Marvel has dollar signs in it’s eyes right now but I hope they don’t rush to get another Iron Man movie into theaters and screw with the formula…I have heard that Louis L(Incredible Hulk director) has thrown his hat into the ring for possibly directing an Avengers movie…Farveau should be Marvel’s goto guy here for this maga project.

adrian said,

Marvel need to take their time with the Avengers and WAIT for Jon Favreau to direct IM2 first then two or three (2012-2013) for a Avengers movie directed by Jon Favreau. Right now Marvel was the “stupid” bug that most Studio have and are playing hardball with Jon F. on money! That’s just STUPID!

Zipper Stevens said,

Right now, marvel is roadmapping their movie schedule and promoting the Hulk. I imagine Fav is negotiating to do the Avengers movie and IM. Hopefully, he sticks to one or the other, not both. I’d love to see him IM2 though…

Speaking of which, just saw Tony Stark in a commercial for the hulk! Didn’t have the sound on though and missed the conversation. :(

Yo, Zipper. At the screening I attended for the Hulk, the Tony Stark scene got the biggest cheer of the whole movie.

And what he SAYS… freakin’ COOL. :-)

sweet stuff,

I think Favreau should do Iron man 2, and maybe let someone else due Avengers. However, if Ironman 2 is better than the first and perfected then id say give him avengers as well.

The Big Dentist said,

So is the shield now going to be like some insane circular Swiss Army knife full of flamethrowers, camping equipment and an MP3 player? I’m there for that one.

Major Update I think: I just saw a trailer for the Hulk with Stark in it! Don’t know if this is new…Well, it is for me. And I don’t think it’s a “after the movie” scene. Just a heads up that they probably are trying to reel people in with Stark.

June 11th, 2008
Yes, Robert Downey Jr appears in the Hulk movie within the context of the film and not in some after the credits bonus.

His appearance and what he said got the biggest cheer of the entire film at the screening I attended. Far more than any reaction during the rest of the film. :-)

Ahhh, that’s good and bad I guess. When a cameo gets better response then the movie it’s self.

For Zachary…Read some reviews dude!! They have been great and at 75% positive on rotten tomatoes is an awesome sign..2008 will be Marvel’s year and the way they are using the continuity theme within the movies to introduce other characters is frickin genius…With the way they are doiong it it will be very exciting to see which other characters make cameos in other movies they are producing in the next few years. We know now there will be plenty…
