I wonder if that was alluding to the Mandarin being the behind the scenes bad guy. They have said they have "an interesting take" on the Mandarin for the movies so I'm assuming it's not going to be a super powered bad guy but more along the lines of a classic lex luthor type. A powerful guy in some sort of power position (possibly government) that is secretly trying to maneuver himself into a better global position, etc. which brings him into direct confrontation with Iron Man and then Fury (SHIELD) and then the Avengers?
