That’s sounds like a great idea (an IM2 party); but the way you and Stephie are going on, are you sure you 2 would be watching the film?

It’s just a wee bit chilly in Chicago today, but we had sunny skies, so it wasn’t all bad. We had a slight dusting of snow on Thanksgiving, but it didn’t stick and melted very quickly.

And it’s okay if we can’t meet halfway to check out ol’ tinhead. It’ll be a pleasure to read your thoughts about the movie.

I’d love to see IM2 start out with an action scene so we can get right into the story, since all of the origin stuff was already done in IM. BY the time we get to IM2, we’re familiar enough with Tony Stark so we can get into the action without too much trouble.

As for RDJ not being in the Avengers — I read the same interview (think it was in the Dec. issue of Esquire or last week’s Entertainment Weekly.. I have copies of both mags), and I can see where he’s coming from.

After too many of his movies wound up going past the multiplex and straight to the DVD rack at Walmart, RDJ’s finally made to the A-List, but even he’s aware that Hollywood can be a very fickle town, and the show-biz axiom of “you’re only as good as your last hit” is especially true, in the wake of The Soloist not doing well at the multiplex back in April.

Still, I hope to see him in The Avengers, though … and judging by the features on the IM DVD, looks like he had a very good time playing Iron Man.

Cool… I mean, literally, must be pretty cool as in cold there in Chicago right now, haha.

My sister lives in Chicago. I went to visit her when it was -16 degrees out, lol, lots and lots of snow. But alas, I live in Florida, so even meeting halfway it’s a bit too far for us to check out ol tinhead, haha.

I hope IM2 begins with an action scene, just jump right into it, lol. That would be sweet…

And to the person who said RDJ might not be in the Avengers, I hope not and I doubt it. I think The Avengers is part of his contract. And plus, he must have a blast playing Iron Man…

I enjoyed IM also, despite the fact that the battle between IM and the main bad guy (Obadiah) was pretty weak, but even that little quibble didn’t diminish my overall enjoyment of the movie. It was definitely a thrill ride, and I’m expecting IM2 to be just as entertaining.

His statements imply that he is not obligated to appear in another Iron Man movie or in The Avengers, which is contrary to the multi-picture deal that he is assumed to be under.

The thing about Iron Man, is that in the comics the villains were pretty outrageous. While the movie tried to keep it grounded in reality. And I think we all can agree, the battle between Im and the main villain was pretty weak. I loved the movie overall and thought that it was one of the greatest character intro movies, but do kind of wish there was a little more action between IM and the main villain. But overall, that isn’t enough for it to count as a disappointment for me. I LOVED Iron Man…

Damn Stephie, where do you live? Why can’t I find myself some girls who want to see IM2? The girl I’m talking to now is the one that didn’t really like it… How lame… At least she wants to see Avatar with me, lol.

I think that’s what my buddy meant when he said that. He was expecting much more emphasis on action, but since IM is an origin story, there’s going to be some action, but not as much as he’s used to seeing in a comic book movie.

He did enjoy The Incredible Hulk, though.

I think your male friend meant that he expected more action. That’s the only thing that I could come up with when he said he was disappointed.
