I will probably end up buying Iron Man 2 and I will likely go for the three-disc combo version simply because I love seeing as much of the behind-the-scenes stuff as possible. As I said, I don’t think the film was anywhere near as good as the first, but I’m very interested to see how the visual effects and all the sets and (of course) the Iron Man suit itself were put together.

Will you be buying Iron Man 2 on DVD or Blu-ray? If so which version will you be laying down your hard-earned cash for?

As stated, Iron Man 2 hits DVD and Blu-ray on September 28th, 2010. You can pre-order your copy now at Amazon.

  1. IF i get it it will be the combo pack…….

  2. @aknot,

Heh, I know what you mean. But “2-Disc Edition” looks better on the shelf 😉

    • I just dont see the sense in getting a BluRay if my TV doesn’t support it fully and my DVD/TV combo currently works well.

Do you guys get price points (costs) for the various bundles?

  3. I like the way the 2 disc looks but the combo is much better cuz the blu ray always includes a bit more not to mention its picture……i like action movies in blu ray……Aknot,so u thinking on buying a blu player soon?!?

    • Not until all 3 DVD players go south. So probably not until June of next year…. yes I have a plan the wife does not know about… bwahahahaha.

  4. I will not be buying this, I will downloaad it.

    The reason?

The crappy extras on the 2 disc dvd. How many people have blu ray over dvd? I hate blu ray!!!!!!! The 2 disc will be the same price as the bluray version and you get less for your money!!! What possible, sensible reason is there for this? if you want extras, you are now forced to upgrade to a new kind of player that is inherently dodgy.

When i play dvd’s through my XBOX onto my HD TV through HDMI, the picture difference between that and a blu ray is negligable.

    Such a rip off!

    • I feel your pain, believe me. I don’t have a Blu-Ray player, and I’m a little ticked because the Blu-Ray will have more features than the 2 disc DVD.

The first Iron Man 2 disc DVD had so many wonderful goodies on it, and that kinda spoiled me.

    • Yeah, the whole “digital copy” thing really cuts into the special features. The Dark Knight, Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, etc all had digital copies and shiat for special features on the second disc.

  5. Lol!!!!! Thats soooo funny hahaha!!!!! Well id recommend getting the blu ray combos now,but your wife will suspect bwahhhaaahaha!!!!

    • Exactly, she will be like why are you getting the BluRay one, I will say well it has the DVD in it also…. She will then ask well why not just get the DVD one… at that point I would have to gas her and drag her out of the store waking her up and telling her she slipped and bumped her head…

This will be the 3rd or 4th time something like this has happened so she will eventually catch on….

  6. Drsambecket
Soon they will only have Blu rays in stores, theyre gonna get rid of DVDs…….

    • No, they really arent. It took them ten or so years to fade out VHS after dvd came on the scene.

  7. Yeah but it will still happen……

    • Yeah in years to come maybe, when you get a blu ray player for £50 maybe I’ll buy one, but at the moment, I fail to see why people without blu ray should be victimised for not upgrading.

  8. True. But i wanna have a blu ray collection by that time;.) i try to get the cheap ones cuz theyre all expensive!!!!!! Next things gonna be blu ray 3d…….

  9. Aknot
I gotta say u are the funniest commenter to date!!!!!! Wow im laughing soooo hard right now hahahaha!!!!!!

    • im not converting my 300+ multi-disk dvds to blu-ray anytime soon….

      • exactly, i’ve got close to 3000 dvds

        • wow sam lol, thats about how many one of my uncles have too

        • @DrSamBeckett & anthony…

As of right now, I have a paltry 19 DVD’s in my collection (it’ll soon be 22 DVD’s when my order from Amazon comes), and several of them are either 2 disc (Iron Man, I Am Legend, XXX: Unrated Director’s Cut, Star Trek (2009), Tropic Thunder: Director’s Cut, Blade: Trinity – Unrated and Event Horizon) or 3 disc special editions (The Incredible Hulk).

I do have the Sherlock Holmes Blu-Ray/DVD combo, but I gave it to my sister as a belated birthday gift. She has a Blu-Ray player, but it doesn’t have the BD-Live feature, though.

          • Ah, Event Horizon, my third favourite movie.

  10. I have a ps3 and blu player;) i love blu ray,wish their prices go down though…..

  11. Critics of Spider-Man 3 need to take a hard look at Iron Man 2.
Same formula,,,only Spider-Man 3 pulled it off,,,, ok let the attack begin!
