It’s a big week for Marvel movie fans as Sunday evening saw the release of the second Iron Man 2 trailer. The new trailer introduced the new briefcase armor and brought a whole lot more War Machine and Iron Man action in addition to some more hints about the story of the sequel.
If that wasn’t enough, Marvel also released a pair of new Iron Man 2 character posters featuring the two armored heroes of the movie as well as an image for the War Machine/Iron Man standee.

While from afar, the posters look slightly more cartoon as opposed to metal armor (especially for the case of Iron Man’s red suit), if you check out the high res images, you can see the details. I dig the fact that there’s no text on these, just the character image with the giant “2″ in the background.
The Iron Man armor featured in these posters appears to be the Mark VI armor, yet another new suit to be introduced in the sequel. The first movie saw one set of red armor known as the Mark III (after his silver less-advanced prototypes) and this movie we know introduces the Mark IV, an even more improved suit, again with the circular light in the middle which can be seen from the Hall of Armor photos we took at Comic-Con last summer.

We also know from the new Iron Man 2 trailer that the movie also features the briefcase portable armor suit which our own Paul Young figured out a year ago and from these posters, the Mark VI armor which features the triangular light on the chest plate, a nod to the extremis armor from the books.
These posters will reportedly be in theaters so you’ll get a chance to see them in person. I want them both.
Iron Man 2 is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow and Olivia Munn. It also will feature Paul Bettany as the voice of Jarvis, Stan Lee as Larry King and Jon Favreau himself will play the part of Hogan.
Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7, 2010.

The character posters are a little disappointing though , really bad combination of colors .
The War Machine poster is bad-ass, but the others are meh.

We'll you can tell that they are rendered drawings, not real metalic suits that's why. BUT I'M STILL PSYCHED!!!!!!
I might be crazy, but I think that there is gonna be two versions of the Mark VI. The first is the one we see here, with the gray on it, and the second is just red and gold. Why would they have a complete red and gold Mark VI on the toy packaging if it's not going to be in the movie?

i think you are mistaken about Mark VI, i think….
Mark IV is similar to the gold and red in IM with circular arc reactor
Mark V is the suitcase armor, red and gray, circular arc reactor
Mark VI is red and gold with the triangular arc reactor
I think there are two Mark VI's. Here is my reasoning.
Mark IV: This armor has the Circular Uni-Beam, and is completely red and gold.
Mark V: Obviously this is the red and silver briefcase armor.
Mark VI: This is the latest armor, with the triangular unibeam, but I believe there are two color versions.
Version 1 is seen here on this page, it's red with gold upper arms that have gray biceps. It Also has complete gold upper legs with gray kneepads.
Version 2 is completely red and gold – it looks just like the Mark IV, but with the triangular unibeam. If you don't believe me, look at any Iron Man 2 toy package or any Iron Man Mark VI toy currently released.
I could be wrong, but I don't know why they would be selling Version 2 Mark VI and using it on the packaging if it wasn't in the movie.
While being a musician and a comicbook geek/fanMAN not fan/boy. haha! I've just found out that “Rage Against The Machine”/”Audio Slave's” Tom Morello is scoring the “Iron Man 2″ Sountrack!!!! While we have “AC/DC” doing their “Iron Man” (best of) promo, we'll also have Tom Morello's “Iron Man 2″ sountrack!!! Awe man, this is just too much man!!!!(in a good way). Now I gotta go change my pants and underwear then take a shower. Rob take over for me dude.
