Marvel and Netflix are just barely more than a week away from the release of Iron Fist. The mystical, martial-arts heavy, superhero show will be their fourth and final series leading into The Defenders. The show has an incredibly high bar to reach with DaredevilJessica Jones, and Luke Cage each being received positively. This time, the MCU's latest hero will be Danny Rand (Finn Jones), a thought-to-be-dead son that comes back to New York with newfound powers.

While much of the series will undoubtedly focus on Danny, Iron Fist will try to follow in the footsteps of its proceeding series' and produce another breakout character. From the start, many have hoped that Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) will prove to be that character, and by the looks of the marketing she could be just that.

Netflix has released a new trailer/featurette for Iron Fist that puts the focus on the shows lead female character. The trailer offers up new clips of her in action and with Danny, but also allows for Henwick to explain the mindset of Wing and tease fans what they can expect from her.

Iron Fist has long been subjugated to criticism over the casting of Jones, not because of his ability as an actor, but as the result of many pushing for an Asian or Asian-American actor to play the character instead. This latest case of white-washing controversy has overshadowed the rest of the series' cast, which outside of the Meachums, appears to be extremely diverse. Even though some may not have received a non-white hero as requested, they do have an Asian female lead to pull for.

Wing's presence in the marketing has already provided reason to believe her fight scenes could be some of the highlights from the first season. Early reviews for Iron Fist have started to come out and while they are far from glowing, it appears that Henwick is well on her way to being a fan-favorite addition to this universe. This is only the beginning of her role as the Daughter of the Dragon anyway, as she will reprise her role in The Defenders this summer. Plus, if her character is anywhere near as popular as Simone Missick's Misty Knight from Luke Cage was, we could be one step closer to a Daughters of the Dragon spinoff series starring the two female heroes.
