I thoroughly enjoyed Iron Man 2 a couple of weeks ago. I realize I might be in the minority among fanboys, and even some fellow colleagues here on Screen Rant, but I’ll probably even buy the Blu-ray when it comes out – because I enjoyed it that much.
One thing we can all pretty much agree on is the suit and CG used in the Iron Man series are absolutely fantastic. Special FX house Industrial Light & Magic proved their worth once again by delivering the best digital and practical effect money can buy.
However, they aren’t the only ones that have some great SFX skills when it comes to bringing the Iron Man suit to life.
This morning Jon Favreau tweeted about an Iron Man spoof by french SFX artist Strob. Strob recently released his version of Marvel’s blockbuster franchise entitled Iron Baby and it looks so awesome that I would actually watch a TV series based on this clip – if it were ever produced.
Thanks to the Great White Snark for the heads up on the video.
Watch it below and enjoy:
There are a number of terrific little details in the clip such as the safety pin on the cod piece and the duplicate hot rod push car from Tony Stark’s garage – not to mention how seamlessly the different parts of the armor look while adjusting.
The appearance and feel of the clip remind me of a number of other baby-fied adult oriented characters. The Flintstone Kids, Muppet Babies, Tiny Toons, and Super Hero Squad are all well written, funny, and entertaining in their own right.
If someone in Hollywood were to step up and make a live action version of Iron Baby along with Hulk Baby, Spider-Baby, Baby Thing, Invisible Baby, The Baby Torch and Baby Fantastic then, as long as it was as entertaining as Strob’s video – they could consider me an avid fan.
This isn’t Strob’s first work and he’s got several other high quality samples on his website – check them out HERE.
How did you like Iron Baby by Strob and what would you think about a live-action Baby Avengers or Super Hero Squad show?
