The new international trailer for James Cameron’s long-awaited 3D “masterpiece,” Avatar, has made its way online and you can check it out here. It’s in English but there are non-English subtitles. The official release of the domestic version happens tomorrow morning at 10:00am pacific time.

Not everyone was 100% sold from the first trailer for Avatar, but perhaps this trailer may sway those skeptics over. This promo focuses on more of the human element and story structure which will help connect with mainstream moviegoing audiences.

I’m biased because I love James Cameron’s previous works and because I was treated to nearly half an hour of footage while at San Diego Comic-Con. So, needless to say, I’m very pumped for this flick. This trailer does however, give away a lot of the film’s story and setup, and I imagine they had to reveal as much in such a lengthy trailer because a lot of regular folks (who don’t read Screen Rant) simply had no idea what the film is about.
After seeing this, they sure as hell do now. Don’t fret if you feel spoiled, I expect there’s some unexpected twists and turns from Avatar waiting us because Cameron emphasized that in the marketing, they’d be saving a lot back for the actual theatrical release.
Did any of you get that 300 vibe from Sam Worthington’s character towards the end?

They “link” into the bodies by laying in that bed you see in the trailer. So Worthington is in that contraption while his mind is inside the Avatar on the planet surface.

Not sure – I would guess the he’d have to bring the Avatar back to one of those pods hooked up to that machine and reverse the mind transfer process.
What happens when you unplug while in the Avatar might be an interesting plot point… I don’t know what happens but when Sam starts helping the Na’vi, perhaps the military try just that and he is forever in that body?
way better then first trailor. after thinking about it. in a war id think the natives would win, because they would probly outnumber the humans 500 to 1. maybe more

wow must say that was incredible!!!! so if they are on the ship and their mind is in the avatar whats to keep the military from just killing the body and haivng the avatar die. but lets see he has copied so far…fern gully….call me joe….that other book the forest or something….the matrix….mmmm very orginal james i cant wait to see all those movies combined into one….oh and by the way the tree that the navi live on is like the creation myth the tree of life. everything comes from the tree…..i am feeling the attacks coming on….

I caught the 25 minute 3D footage at SDCCU this year and I had to pick my jaw off from the floor once it was over. I was speachless. I’ve been hooked ever since and have been counting down the days to it’s release. James Cameron will push movies to the next level with this film. Awesome trailer for sure!
The story’s got me intrigued, but I think I might be the only one here who’s not entirely impressed with the 3D. Yeah it’s good, but I’ve seen better. I’m thinking Square Enix, FF:Advent Children…some scenes from that the characters look almost human. I thought this was supposed to be ground-breaking CGI, so I’m a little unimpressed. But again, the story looks pretty solid, and I’m interested in that part anyway.
Wow these comments are a big change from the comments in below that article on the whole “Call Me Joe” ordeal. I agree with most of the people here though. This looks amazing. Can’t think of much else to say. Just wandering if any of the haters or the ‘not so sure’ people think of this trailer.
I was not interested at all from the teaser trailer. Now I’m unsure. I do love Terminator… I do think the animation/CG was overhyped.
Thanks Rob Keys for the trailer.This film only work because of James Cameron if people are not satisfied with the trailer then this movie is not for them and they should stop commenting about it.In order to make it big hit this movie will need mouth publicity like Titanic to make at least 200 or 250 million domestically.I am guessing it open hugely in order to sustain like his other movies did in second week it need nice reviews will be important it’s not like Transformers where you give it 2 stars and then also the movie grosses more than 400 million .I will watch it in Imax 3d on opening night .This will be huge I can tell you that and people will go for repeated viewing after they watch in 3d.
FINALLY. It takes a trailer for naysayers to be swayed even though completely legitimate arguments (which they didnt want to hear) were ignored left and right. THANK YOU Rob for taking interest in what many of us have been following for quite some time. : )

Now that’s what I am talking about .This is the trailer we have been waiting for great to see some Avatar Day footage mixed in too.This is a must watch in 3d it will not look animated or unreal in 3d I promise you that.Now it’s only up to the audiences to go and watch it and make it a big hit like Terminator 2.Remember Sherlock Holmes will not damage this movie because it’s gonna last at least 3d months in 3d theaters in Imax and it’s gonna be on a longer run than the other movies.So it will pick in it’s second and third week and make more money like his other movies did.I won’t go on the opening weekend and tell that if the movie open to 65 million that it is a flop it depend on the longer run.As far I am concerned Avatar won’t go easily out of theaters and people who don’t know anything about Avatar will a lot of time to come and watch it again and again.
I really would like to see this trailer on a big a screen in 2d. And then in 3d.
It just seems to me that this CG is very otherworldly, which I am sure he was going for. But I don’t know if you can say that that N’avi look that lifelike. I have read that their facial features and stuff are supposed to be awesome in the 3D.
All I have seen so far are trailers on my computer.
I will say, I think the story (as portrayed in the trailer) is rather formulaic. I too hope that there are a few twists and turns for the original.

If this trailer gets you guys excited then you are in for a treat because the 15 or 20 minutes shown over a month ago in theaters is very engrossing. everyone should get prepared for a good movie with a great story and beautiful visuals. it doesn’t have to be groundbreaking just because Cameron says it is. he’s just hyping it up like everyone else. and trust me it’s probably 100 times better on the big screen then on a computer.

have you actually seen the 3D footage? you said you weren’t impressed. when did you see it? this footage here is nothing compared to what you will see when the movie comes out.

WOW, come on now, where are the nay-sayers… The final battle looks like it will be nothing short of epic…
Now, I have to make a comment about the story. A lot of us were worried that this will be a “humans are bad” story. Well, I was too, big time, but after seeing that, something I speculated seems to be true, that it isn’t “humans” but a corporation entity. Think Burke of Aliens but this time he actually has some support from the military, but there are definitely other humans that do not support what they are doing.
All I have to say is PHEW, because I think I might have been a bit annoyed by a “humans are evil and greedy” storyline, but a “some humans are evil and greedy” story I have no problem with since it’s completely true.
Man, Rob, you rock and you suck all at once. You rock because this trailer rocked my socks off, but you suck because now December will come even more slowly!!!!

The CGI scenes still take me out of the movie though…just feels like a video game. Actors look great though delivering their lines.
Still not buying the hype but I will reserve my judgment until I see it in 3D technology.
Cameron’s movies were a big part of my childhood/adolescence (except Titanic) and I will definitely support this movie when it comes out.
I don’t know whether the movie will be a success or failure at the box office but that is one helluva trailer…….

No, I haven’t seen any 3D footage, my opinion is based solely on this trailer. I’m sure it will look much better in 3D on the big screen. But still the Navis don’t look that life-like to me, they still look like 3D models. I’m just saying, I’ve seen 3D models much more life-like, so at this point I’m unimpressed with the “ground-breaking” technology.

I am “Aaron” but ive seen other people use that name also so im using my IMDB one form now on. I have seen the 3d footage, and I was blown away. I think you are referring to the other Aaron so I just wanted to clear that up : )
