If you thought Injustice 2 was done adding characters to its massive roster, you were wrong. For the past six months or so, Warner Bros. Interactive Games has slowly been teasing the release of the follow-up to the smash hit Injustice: Gods Among Us. Releasing in a few weeks, the fighter will once again offer updated versions of DC's greatest superheroes and villains, allowing players to pit the characters against one another. And thanks to some powerful upgrades, you'll be able to customize the comic titans in a number of exciting ways.

So far, WB has been far from stingy when it comes to offering early looks at the game. Thanks to a number of trailers, we've seen the might of Green Lantern, watched Firestorm battle Green Arrow, and have watched the Flash in action. On the villain side, the past few weeks have finally revealed Superman villain Brainiac and demonstrated the awesome power of Darkseid. Now, a batch of bonus characters have been revealed, including one from outside of the DC universe.

WB Interactive Games has released a new trailer highlighting the first group of DLC characters who will be available in the new game. Though brief, we get to see Teen Titan member Starfire, former-Robin Jason Todd in his Red Hood guise, and Mortal Kombat stalwart Sub-Zero. For $79.99, all three will be availble in the Injustice 2 Digital Deluxe Edition along with a Premiere Skin and Gear Shader. For $99.99, meanwhile, fans can get the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition. It not only includes all three new characters, but six others, along with three Premiere Skins and two exclusive new Gear Shaders.

Starfire's flight and cosmic powers will make her a formidabble foe. Sub-Zero, meanwhile, will likely be the first of a few surprise guests to the DC universe. As for Todd, he was recently teased in the Joker gameplay trailer. Facing off against Damian Wayne, the current Robin, Joker teased the Batman sidekick about murdering one of his predecessors. Just like in the comics, however, Todd resurfaces as the brutal anti-hero Red Hero.

With word about the available characters in Injustice 2 coming weekly, expect the rest of the month to reveal the remaining DLC characters that will be available. The DLC teaser may also be followed by some gameplay footage of the new characters, fleshing out their skill sets and showing off their powerful Supermoves. Until then, stay tuned for all things Injustice.

Injustice 2 arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 16, 2017.
