Thanks to a new trailer and gameplay footage, the Clown Prince of Crime has finally joined the action for Injustice 2. Mere weeks before the arrival of the follow-up to the popular game Injustice: Gods Among Us, Warner Bros. Interactive Games has given us no shortage of looks at the new game. From story trailers to gameplay footage, we've learned about many of the heroes and villains who will populate the new game, and what moves and allegiances they'll have. And for the heroes of the game, things are looking bleak.

Among the many evil alliances that will exist in Injustice 2, we've seen Gorilla Grodd marshaling his forces with the likes of Captain Cold and Bane. Meanwhile, the Catwoman trailer sees Harley Quinn trying to recruit Selina Kyle to join her Gotham City Sirens. As to whether Harley's beau, The Joker would be present in the game, many have assumed as much. Still, we haven't seen the character before now, so nothing was guaranteed. After months of waiting, however, the Clown Prince of Crime has finally arrived.

Warner Bros. Interactive Games have now posted a new trailer for the Joker, highlighting his moves and showing him in battle against a number of heroes. Armed with knife, crowbar, and an assortment of bombs and guns, the Joker lurches and swaggers through the battle. His style is noticeably erratic, adding some personality to the character. Interestingly, his look also draws a bit from Jared Leto's version in Suicide Squad.

Aside from the more standard weapons, the Joker also has plenty of clown-themed items, from joy buzzers to exploding presents. And his Supermove is one of the most involved yet. First using his laughing gas, he throws his opponent into an electric chair, shocks them, and then a heap of dynamite explodes beneath them. Of course, we'd expect nothing less from the Joker.

The other interesting thing about the trailer is the presence of Damien Wayne. While he doesn't get too much focus, he does allude to Joker killing former Robin Jason Todd. He's also much older than typically pictured in the DC comics, though he still possesses his sword. The presence of another hero is surely a good thing, as Injustice 2 will have no lack of villains.

In the past few months, we've seen characters like Scarecrow and Poison Ivy put centerstage. Last week, Superman villain Brainiac was finally revealed. And earlier today, we finally got to see the long-teased Darkseid in action thanks to a new gameplay video. With the Joker now revealed, the last big name villain is Lex Luthor, who will surely be popping up in the weeks to come.
