While some fans of Chris Nolan’s directorial work can’t wait to see his third film in the Batman franchise others are excited by his next work – the Leonardo DiCaprio starring Inception.

Little is known about this mysterious science fiction film, but we finally know that the teaser trailer will be attached to some (but not all) prints of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, which opens on August 21st.

The plot for Inception has been kept under wraps since the film was announced back in February, and I can’t imagine that the teaser will give away too much. All that is known about the film is that it is “a contemporary sci-fi thriller set within the architecture of the mind.” It is believed that DiCaprio will be playing a “CEO type” who is blackmailed, but this information is pure speculation, and even if it is true – with Nolan there is always more than meets the eye. However, I’m guessing that it’ll have nothing to do with Transformers.

Joining the A-list DiCaprio in the film is pretty much a who’s-who of critically acclaimed modern actors: Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Paige, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ken Watanabe.

It looks like August 21st is going to be a very important day for fans of sci-fi cinema: it’s is also the day that James Cameron unveils his trailer (and footage) for the long-awaited Avatar.

Inception opens on July 16th, 2010 and then it is hoped that Nolan will (supposedly) begin work on his much-anticipated third Batman film.

  1. Personally, I could care less about Basterds or Inception. Avatar Day is whats up

  2. I’m more excited for the trailer than I am for basterds.

  3. Sounds like a film about pregnancy??

I’m not looking forward to the orgy of Batman viral that’s going to assault us next year. I’m actually sick of Batman and Bale.

  4. I dont have an interst in seeing Basterds.
Anybody know why they spell it that way?
Is it because then technically you can say its not a curse word and still use it in the title?

  5. 790
anything positive to say on any threads?

  6. Sure, check out the Hurt Locker review.

  7. TCC, I have to admit to being King Bringdown when 790 was praising AI!

  8. Can’t wait! Been waiting for this ever since Feburary.
