[Update: The official featurette is now available!]

Inception, Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated follow up to The Dark Knight, won’t hit theaters until July 16th, but you can get a sneak peek at some behind-the-scenes footage shared by the good people over at Latino Review.

You’re not going to get too much clarification on the deliberately complex plot, but there’s some amazing footage as well as some insight into the project from Nolan himself and star Leonardo DiCaprio. It’s becoming more and more clear that the scope of this film is massive and I’ve got a feeling we’re still just scratching the surface.

In addition to DiCaprio, the film’s ensemble also includes Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt,  Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, and Michael Caine.

Here’s the plot synopsis from the film’s official site:

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception.

Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime. This movie has been rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action throughout.

  1. This will definitely be one of the best movies of the year. Cannot wait at all to see this film!

  2. PG-13 and DiCaprio, = used dvd viewing…

  3. Well, dangit, now I know more than I wanted to about the plot and what “inception” actually is. I will now try to avoid everything I see about this movie until it actually comes out. Hopefully Nolan won’t allow too much to be revealed in any future trailers or TV spots.

  4. Lesson learned Stephen Tilson.
The number one movie viewing rule of cinema is:

“Don’t spoil it by knowing too much,,,”

  5. I’m starting to get really into this movie now.
