Geez, sorry for digging up such an old thread, but didn’t notice config’s resonse until now. What I meant by confusion is the whole underwater war part. I didn’t know Avatar will have anything to do with an underwater war, thought you were thinking about Cameron’s Abyss, lol.

I was just referring to james camerons Avatar to hi lite the proxy surrogate thing..Avatar was once known as project 880..he has been working on that since the nineties..waiting for the technology to catch up. Its supposed to be out Dec 2009. There is another Avatar..an anime flik..thats not it..Also and even another one ,Shalelamans Avatar which was changed so as Cameron had rights to that.
Its all in wiki if you google “avatar cameron”
I am sorry if I confused..It just jumped into my mind when I saw surrogate.

Didn’t James Cameron have a similar type premise in Avatar, he certainly has that one wrapped up tight, where characters use alien natives of a planet as proxies in some kind of underwater war?
I heard he was training Spielberg on the special equipment being used. The effects are supposed to be nothing less than difference between black silent films to color and 3d sound.
On this now , its quite hard for a Bruce Willis film to go wrong.
not just Die Hard and 5th Element, but has such a wide range in his talent, like with that Director, Shalalaman..:)aarrghhh cant spell his name…anyway..
Being hard times, I know a lot of us want to escape to anywhere but the present, but I look foward to that one.

Yah, I first read about this movie on comingsoon.net a few months back and thought the same thing about Jonathon Mastow, lol. But oh well, at least it’ll have Bruce Willis, maybe that will overcome the stupidity that is bound to ensue because of that director…

If Bruce Willis is in it, it has to at least be entertaining, so I’ll be there. He rarely disappoints.

I generally enjoy Willis and he has served the sci-fi genre well in the past with movies like Unbreakable and The Fifth Element (loved that one)..I’ll say this much ..I am glad it’s not a FOX studios movie or I wouldn’t even bother to read the article..The premise seems like it has the potential to show great promise…I look forward to seeing more on this movie…
