steven the git, Elba plays one of the BEST characters on the show and in ALL of television history…Stringer Bell!
Trust me, you’ll start strutting and talking like Stringer soon enough, I know I have, the character & the way Elba portrays him is just that good!

The Wire is being shown over here now, so just starting to see him strut his stuff.

Liked his first scene where he’s scribbling while sat in the courtroom.

In the states Elba is most well known for his genre-shattering turn on HBO’s The Wire (see it if you haven’t), where he played a drug kingpin going to business school while trying to apply a corporate model to the drug game.

He just made a debut on the U.S. version of The Office a few weeks ago and that will probably introduce him to a whole new audience. He’s been having a good couple of years over here.

Well from a British view he has done a lot of tv. I could recognise him (not by name though) when he did Ultraviolet and that was in the late 90s I think.

Seems to have a done a fair bit of tv in the States too. Having a quick look, he has been in movies like American Gangster, the Reaping, and 28 Weeks Later. Although don’t remember him much in those myself.

He is one of those people you see a lot but isn’t the star so you don’t see his name much.

Idris Elba is a very cool actor. Loved him in Ultraviolet (underseen vampire tv series here in the UK)

“Joel Silver is an ok Producer”? Homey, Lethal Weapon 1,2,3,4; Predator; RockNRolla; Kiss Kiss Bang Bang; V For Vendetta; Swordfish; 48 Hrs.; The Matrix Trilogy; Assassins; Demoliton Man; Die Hard 1 & 2; Action Jackson; COMMANDO!!!!
Plus he produced one of the most influential TV shows EVER: Action.

Okay, aside from The Invasion, Thirteen Ghosts and Ghotika, the dude is a legend!

I’m loving the casting they have done so far, plus the Writer from Zodiac, then I guess Joel Silver is an ok Producer, this movie should be amazing.
