Third ‘Hulk’ Movie Coming in 2015?

1 year ago by

New Hulk Movie in 2015

One of the most surprising developments in The Avengers, based on early reviews and reactions, is that the Incredible Hulk is finally awesome on the big screen. In fact, it has been said on more than one occasion that the Hulk steals the entire show.

Perhaps as a result of that success, Marvel’s President of Consumer Products, Paul Glitter, recently talked about Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming television adaptation of The Hulk and spinning it off as a major motion picture in 2015. Scroll down for details.

According to Paul Glitter, courtesy of Forbes:

“[After spinning 'Hulk'] off to a stand-alone [television] program next year, [Marvel will support said program with a big-budget feature film in 2015].”

Old School Hulk Face in The Avengers

Gotta love that hideous, old-school Hulk face

Aside from the character being well-received in The Avengers, why has Marvel decided to move forward with a third Hulk film when the last two were tepid successes at best – and when Kevin Feige recently claimed they had no plans to do so?

Says Glitter:

“His sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner.”

Buh? His sales are up in a “major” way? What sales are those exactly? If he’s referring to the comic books, The Incredible Hulk and The Hulk placed 37th and 87th, respectively, in March direct market sales. Now, direct sales are admittedly not the be-all, end-all in terms of comic book $$$, but they are indicative of demand for a title.

Sure, it’s fair to say that both those books are up from where they were last year (marginally, in The Hulk‘s case), but if you compare them to where they were two years ago, they’re down. Three years ago? Way down. Four years ago? Way, way, way down.

Hulk Catching Iron Man in The Avengers

Perhaps the most telling statement from Glitter was one to do with branding:

“There are many opportunities for brands to align with the big commercial in the sky [Gitter’s term for blockbuster movies], but we want to develop sustainable relationships [with our promotional partners].”

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with making as much money as possible on these films, but I think it’s fair to say that we’re lucky Marvel chose Joss Whedon to bring The Avengers to the big screen – that is, someone who cares as much about the characters he’s developing as he does the money he’s receiving. Hopefully, the next Hulk film will be just as fortunate.

Do you want to see a third Hulk film, Screen Ranters? Are some of you still hoping to see The Leader? Let us know in the comments.

The Hulk 3, Incredible Hulk 2 (or whatever it’ll be called) may hit theaters in 2015, if all goes well.

  1. I want you to know that the Incredible Hulk 2 is Announce that will be release on 2015 and a Sequel to 2008 film Starring Edward Norton as the lead.

    • @ Gilberto

I don’t believe you are correct. Marvel ruled out working with Norton again, which is the reason Ruffalo got the part. He has a 6 picture deal with Marvel so who else would he play? I would love another Hulk film and I think Ruffalo was better than Norton, just a personal opinion though. When/if it will be who knows, but according to screen rant if it is 2015 it might suggest Hulk will not be in Avengers 2, also slated for 2015? Conjecture of course

      • Andy you are wrong and you don’t read to well about the post article you are wrong 90% of the time I like Edward Norton better than Mark Ruffalo because its announce already Andy so don’t talk foolish negative remarks about the Hulk. The Incredible Hulk is not mark ruffalo its Ed norton be the Sequel has and ending will continue with Ed Norton.Read an article of That they having rule out another Movie with Edward Norton.

        • @ Gilberto

Well I’m not getting into a debate as it is pointless until it actually happens, we will just have to wait and see. Either way a Hulk film will be great he is my favourite character so you won’t hear anything negative from me, not even 90% of the time

          • OH Yes you are Negative! The Incredible Hulk is very popular rather you like it or not. That’s because of Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno made it popular already.

        • Mr Edwards, you are wrong here.
Edward Norton officially announced that he will not be playing as the hulk again.
There are big rumours about a 3rd hulk movie, however they are not confirmed yet.
Obviously they will use Mark Ruffalo, which is logical (you can’t really expect them to suddenly use Norton again, when Ruffalo took over the role and he has no problems with a sequel. Ruffalo also has a contract with marvel for 6 movies, so why would he not return as the hulk?)
It might be sad for a lot of people who liked Norton as the Incredible Hulk, but he won’t come back.
I personally think Ruffalo is a very good replacement.

          • Agreed ProZoRz.

          • No all of you’ll is wrong ProzOro and any Its not mark ruffalo its Edward Norton is the lead not mark ruffalo because he that’s motion pictures means that gale anne hurd an Norton is under the contract said CEO Gale Anne Hurd.

            • You are all wrong!!! Lady Guy Guy is going to play the part!
P.S. Gilberto, learn how to properly construct a sentence.

              • No I’m right about,what I saw and said,about The Incredible Hulk 2,that’s Edward Norton,is Still Bruce Banner/Hulk,and Lou Ferrigno at same time,is playing,the voice,of The Hulk.

                • “no, I am right, WAH WAH WAH!!!” OMG, too funny. Gilberto, I am sorry to burst your bubble, but its not everyone else who is wrong. They are right, the Hulk is never going to be an Ed Norton role again, ever. Dont start making bets because you’ll lose your house lol. Mark Ruffalo did a much better job as the Hulk/Banner any way which is why the interest in the Hulk is way up now. I will have to say, Norton should be kicking himself in the rear right now with Avengers being the 3rd highest grossing film of all time.

        • No one reads posts that are one huge sentence. It’s like listening to the Micro Machine guy.

      • Why would they remove the most popular character from the Avengers movie?

Did you even read the article above?

  2. That’s your opinion but its not happening no time soon. The Incredible Hulk 2 is a Sequel to 2008 Film and Tim blake nelson will become the Leader and Tim Roth sign a three movies with marvel Studio and gale Anne Hurd is Vanhalla motion pictures said that Norton is under the for a Sequel.

  3. The Incredible Hulk 2 was in development of a Sequel since The Incredible Hulk movie was release in 2008.

  4. It’s annouce that the Incredible Hulk 2 a sequel to the 2008 Film casting is same cast like Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, and Tim Roth as the abomination,Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader, and William Hurt as the general ross see it on yahoo.com search on Marvel Fanon Incredible Hulk 2 and the cast.

  5. The Incredible Hulk 2 is in planning production announce to expecting to release in 2015.with the same cast from 2008 Film.Edward Norton wrote the screenplay for marvel since zack penn couldn’t rewrite the screenplay so they got Edward Norton to do it because penn had to go rewrite another movie.

  6. Behind that they will have a New Incredible Hulk series coming out next year that will be spinoff into a Big budget movie into motion picture in 2015.

    • Gilberto,

All right, already – you keep saying the same thing over and over and you’re essentially spam-commenting the site. Move on and say something different or I’m going to ban you since I’ll assume you’re leaving tons of comments just to get people to visit your site.

      Vic

  7. Andy go on my website called http://www.GilbertoEdwards.com explains about upcoming Incredible Hulk Film and TV series.

  8. If wasn’t for the old series and stan Lee,they wouldn’t be hear right now.

    • That is the one remark that is correct sir!

  9. Dilderto Edwards, why do you keep reposting the same thing in different phrasings, when it’s widely known that Ruffalo is playing Banner, and Norton isn’t involved with Marvel?

    • Oh yes he is ken don’t be judging me I know its Edward Norton I read it.

      • I agree mr.edwárds

      • Well maybe Norton could play Red Hulk, I believe there is a vacancy there! Equally ridiculous I know!

        • I do not see edward Nortun as the red hulk likely

          • I give up!

            • please Andy I sorry about the way it when down, because it was posted about the Incredible Hulk 2 Sequel is coming back with Edward Norton. Not to be this repectful Andy ok except my apology.

              • No problem Gilberto, we all have opinions, there is no arguement from me on that. We have both obviously read different things. Like I said, it is pointless debating it or attempting to enforce our opinion on others until we see what actually happens. The only people who know are the decision makers. I read that Ruffalo signed a 6 movie deal with Marvel. If that is the case, it could be assumed that he wouldn’t be playing another Marvel character other than the Hulk. For those of us that are Hulk fans, it has to be good news that we will potentially be seeing the Hulk 6 more times on the big screen.

                • Thank you andy for being my best friend about being there for the Hulk Film with the Avengers 2012.Its just I’m a standalone,Hulk series fan with Bill Bixby, and Lou Ferrigno. What is your opinions, about if you was writing,a storyline, about the Hulk film, or Hulk Series, what would like to write about for both Films and series?

  10. And i like edward norton as the hulk

  11. Cale,Andy, and ken there’s a movie coming out with Edward Norton called the Moonrise kingdom coming in May 25,2012,and go on youtube, about the red carpet, called The Incredible Hulk 2008 Film permiere.

  12. Mark Ruffalo has already signed a contract for six Marvel films one maybe a solo Hulk movie. The whole Edward Norton Hulk sequel talk was 2 or 3 years, so it aren’t happening now because you don’t hear Marvel saying there’s gonna be another Ed Norton Hulk movie.

    • michael macdonnell you’re wrong about mark ruffalo he’s not on the contract to reprise the role as Bruce Banner in a Incredible Hulk 2 because the storyline already been told before ruffalo played in the Avengers 2012,so Gale Anne Hurd told MTV that Norton is under the contract to play Bruce Banner/Hulk,Sequel to the 2008 film.

      • hahaha

      • Dude are you STILL on this garbage? Norton was RELEASED FROM HIS CONTRACT. Contract doesn’t guarantee the person gets to play the role, only that is they WANT HIM TO, he is obligated to do so. Norton was RELEASED FROM HIS CONTRACT and Mark Ruffalo, the best Banner/Hulk to date in a Marvel movie, was signed to a 6 picture contract. So that means that IF THERE IS A HULK SEQUEL, RUFFALO WILL BE REPRISING THE ROLE NOT NORTON. As Jules would say in Pulp Fiction: “English mutha******, do you speak it?!?!”

        • Squareman I’ve tried already, best of luck though, but best left alone, it ain’t sinking in with him, even with more than one person highlighting the ‘facts’! Classic thread though and mildly entertaining. Certainly Ken seems to be enjoying it! Here’s looking forward to seeing Ruffalo reprise his Banner/Hulk role on the next 6 occasions. And you are correct, the best Banner to date, quite menacing in an understated kind of way I thought.

          • He’s like the kid that keeps trying to push open a pull door.

        • Edward Norton is still on the contract for a Hulk Sequel, said Gale Anne Hurd, major motion picture,he was fired from only his picture deal not his muiltiple contract. That means Mark Ruffalo is not involve in the Hulk 2 because he has a 6 movie picture deal only.

        • Andy we are friends right? And this person on his name squareman357 comments is not being truthful about Edward Norton contract.

          • I am everyone’s friend Gilberto but doesn’t mean to say I have to agree with you, but I do agree with squareman though. You are gettings facts mixed up with the actual 2008 TIH film I beleive. Like I say time will tell, best just leave it at that. All the best

            • Andy that’s your meature of opinion, but I disagree with you too. Because its in the http://www.Maina.com a article told saying the Incredible Hulk 2 is still on the table said Gale Anne Hurd.Go on website search for Incredible Hulk 2 is still on the table.

        • This is not up to marvel Studio CEO kevin Fegie at all its up to Vanhalla Motion Pictures Gale Anne Hurd as CEO attach to the Film rights to the character than Feige.

          • I seriously feel like I ate a pound of mushrooms. So weird.

            • Haha Ken, classic

        • Wrong If mark ruffalo signs a six movie picture deal means that he’s only doing The Avengers 2,3,4,and other two will probably will go to the other unstandalone Hulk Films like Iron 3 and Thor 2 or captain america 2.

  13. I would love to see a hulk movie . I wish it would come out sooner . Especally with all the other character in the avengers it would be great because people could grow a realationship with the movie and the characters in it especally the hulk bruce banner .

  14. Woah that Gilberto guy writes like a Pakistani telemarketer trying to sell mobile phone contracts!

This was the singularly weirdest thread I have ever seen in discussion about anything ever period.

    Purple giraffes.

    • I enjoyed it thoroughly, even Gilberto’s obstinant refusal of evidence. For a moment there I was sure he was a republican.

    • Thank you for all the complement and I wish you can email me about The wizarld world comic-con 2012 May31,June 1,2,3, coming up next month and Lou Ferrigno will be there at wizard world philadeilpia in june to answer all your Questions.

  15. isnt gilbert gonna be disapointed when norton doesnt play the hulk so remember this cuz we will all be saying told you so sorry bout the spelling lol

  16. the first movie called the hulk sucked the story was ok and the actors were good but it was to cartoonie not real looking the incredible hulk was great norton did a good job playing banner but ruff did a great job and the hulk was so much more real looking it even looks like mark awsome to see him do it over and over cant get enough

  17. Mark was 10000000 times better as the hulk. Signed 6 movies with marvel. What else will mark play other than the hulk. Hulk is the best marvel character that Stan lee created.

  18. Mark is the best actor for the hulk. No one can top him. I can not wait for another hulk to come out, also the avengers 2. Hulk is a beast. Stan lee thank you for this creation

  19. Gilberto is in for a surprise when Ed Norton doesn’t appear as The Hulk AGAIN. I like Ed Norton, but Mark Ruffalo was a superior Bruce Banner and Hulk.

  20. If Marvel does make a new Hulk movie I would hope they use Mark Ruffalo. He was the first Bruce Banner that I actually liked. A depth, that is needed to like his character, was brought with Ruffalo and this was the first time I saw the “IT” factor with Bruce Banner. Please oh please use Mark Ruffalo in any role written for Bruce Banner now.

    • Alice don’t count on Mark Ruffalo doing more Hulk Films because he’s on a pictuure deal that make six. I will like Edward Norton to return to the role instead of Mark Ruffalo.

  21. Gilberto Edwards seriously stfu. Your wrong on Edward Norton returning. Mark will be playing the hulk. If he was in for a 6 pictured deal then he will appear in the following

    Avengers
    The Incredible Hulk 2
    Avengers 2
    The Incredible Hulk 3
    Avengers 3
And perhaps Iron Man 3. Reason being when they said Stark can’t call Shield, he can’t ask Thor or Cpt America for help, he’s on his own. They didn’t mention Hulk, so Hulk might be in Iron Man 3. The 2003 Hulk Movie isn’t part of the Hero Franchise, Marvel Rebooted it, so it doesn’t count as the first Hulk Movie, 2008 movie counts as the first one.

Here is my version of the Chronological Order

    Iron Man
    The Incredible Hulk
    Iron Man 2
    Thor
    Captain America: The First Avenger
    Avengers
    Iron Man 3
    Thor 2
    Captain America 2
    The Incredible Hulk 2
    Avengers 2
    Thor 3
    The Incredible Hulk 3
    Captain America 3
    Avengers 3

Remember Samuel Jackson signed on for a total of 9 films (whether cameos or a main character) and up to Avengers he’s been in half of them, so I think Avengers 3 will be the last one in the Franchise, unless they talk Iron Man 4 with a Cross-over with the newly rebooted Amazing Spiderman and the upcoming rebooted Fantastic 4. I could be right in thinking they are making trilogies for each Superhero (Not counting Hawkeye and Black Widow) unless they want to make Iron Man 4.

    • Sam The Incredible Hulk 2 is Edward Norton and you are wrong not me.

      • Hey have you watched avengers? Why was it that Norton never appeared? It’s simple english, Edward Norton refused to consider coming back so they replaced him with Mark Ruffalo and Ruffalo playing the Hulk was considered the best performance of the other 2 actors. It’s the Incredible Hulk 2, not 3.

So face the facts and the truth. Are you high or something? What does it take for you to understand this? You’re probably just a troller or a toddler obsessed with not understanding the truth and when you do believe it, you’ll just go into crying rages and run to mommy for her to comfort you on the truth. Seriously if you’re just trolling; Get a Life!

    • Sam,

You are seriously looking to get banned, brother. Calling people stupid and telling them to stfu is a one way ticket off this site.

      Vic

      • Why can’t Gilberto Edwards understand English? You seem to be cool with his trolling and stuff that gets us all angry here. Trying to confuse everyone here. And yes, I happened meet to meet Robert Downey Jr at a Starbucks cafe in NY 3 weeks ago. Pretty nice chap to hang out with. Since you don’t like swearing on this forum, perhaps you can tell this guy Gilberto Edwards that he is wrong and to stop confusing people which is his goal of doing.

        • Sam,

Because it seems he’s not from the US. Just over half our visitors are based in the US, but the rest are from other countries.

So how about you take it easy on the guy (even if he might be wrong or confused).

          Vic

          • Yeah ok gotta agree with you. The people in the US are more intelligent than the ones outside of it. Ok understood. I mean why doesn’t he go look on wikipedia about this stuff. In the Incredible Hulk Page it says Norton dropped out of talks and Mark signed on to talks. It’s in the first paragraph of the page.

  22. “The Incredible Hulk” was actually pretty darn good. It would have done better box-office wise if it hadn’t been for the “Ang Lee” flop a few years earlier. Edward Norton did a great job with it. And, though I do believe that the “Avengers” is how a comic book movie should be done, I wasn’t overly impressed with how the Hulk was portrayed. They gave him a gorilla-like behavior. Yeah, the fight scenes with him were great, but overall, the Hulk is not a freakin’ gorilla! He never once, to my recollection, ever aped a gorilla in any of the comics I’ve ever read. However, because the “Avengers” was so spot on when it comes to comic book movies, I can actually overlook the Hulk slight.

  23. THE BIG GREEN GUY( THE INCREDIBLE HULK)WAS THE BEST MOVIE EVER TO COME MY WAY FROM MARVEL. NOT TO SAY IRON MAN, CAP A AND THOR WERE NOT MASTERFUL BUT THE HULK WAS ‘THE’ MOVIE FROM MARVEL. A CHARACTER I WOULD SOOOOOOOOO MUCH LOVE TO SEE AGAIN AND AGAIN ON THE BIG SCREEN. THE TV SERIES IS WELCOMED AS WELL BUT TELL YOU THE TRUTH, GIVE US THE INCREDIBLE HULK ONE MORE TIME AND AS WILL SMITH DID IN HANCOCK………….YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. HULK IS MY FIRST LOVE. THANK YOU MARVEL TEAM, LOTS OF LOVE FROM GHANA.

    • HAHAHA I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE YELL AT ME IT IS AMAZING AND I AM THANKFUL FOR IT

      ugh.

  24. 1. Edward Norton WILL NOT be coming back EVER to play the Hulk….unless he does it at home on his webcam or camcorder!
    2. I really hope they make another Hulk…..but 2015??? Damn….does Marvel think these Actors are getting younger????? Not too mention….that three years from now….who’s to say that super hero movies will still be popular?
    3. It’s called momentum. If you are on a roll…..then keep rolling! Hulk needs to be 2014. Avengers Early 2015 or late 2014.
    4. Next Hulk needs to either be Planet Hulk or directly lead in to it. Shooting Banner in to space at the end of the movie.

  25. Hopefully they do not bring Norton back. He is way too monotone for the part. He was a big part in making the previous movies boring. Ruffalo has a much more edgy persona and is able to carry the character much better than Norton. Nortons performances in the previouse two movies have been stale. Why go back to what hasn’t worked out in the past?

  26. It’s got pretty confusing on here people, lets just verify the facts, Ruffalo is signed up to the hulk which includes any avengers characters needing or wanting “hulks” help in the franchise, fact. With the single use of hulk on his own,the rights are owned by Gale Anne Hurd which in sense she can cast anyone she wants so be it maybe ed norton (rumoured). That said tho with the recent arrival of the avengers film the production of the film “hulk2″ is taking a step back due to the success of The avengers. Which makes sense, that’s like releasing batman and batman begins on the same day! Same character but oh so different! Gale is hanging on to see where Marvel are going with the Hulk, after that it’s anyone’s guess what happens? ed norton?…… Maybe, but by the time it goes into production it will probably be Justin timberlake. Rant over!

    • Nope.

You seem to be reading articles from 2008, and using them as current information. Marvel Studios has the rights to Hulk now… Valhalla was involved with making 2008′s “The Incredible Hulk,” along with Marvel Studios, but she can’t make a sequel without Marvel’s go-ahead, and they’re not going to use anyone but Ruffalo at this point.

      • Oh yes! Ken its a Sequel to the 2008 Film not rebooted She could do anything she put her mind into said me.Marvel Studio is not in charged its Valhalla motion pictures Marvel Entertainment will give Gale Anne Hurd the green light not Marvel Studio.

        • Hey buddy – MARVEL OWNS HULK. No one on any planet in the universe can make a Hulk film, TV show, or boxers without sign-off from Marvel. END OF STORY. Norton is gone man!! Stop deluding yourself. Even Norton and his agent said that they won’ be doing any Hulk film.

And BTW – Mark Ruffalo has signed for six additional films with Marvel Studios. Why would marvel cast another star for Bruce Banner if Ruffalo’s is already down?

      • Ken is right. Couldn’t have said it better.
Since it was Marvel’s decision to let go of Norton, it’s reasonable to say that Marvel Studios holds the bargaining chip on any decision about the Hulk movie franchise. Unless you have been living under a rock, Ed Norton and Marvel have had a rocky relationship and parted ways after the Incredible Hulk movie. Norton has stated in interviews, and I quote,

“I couldn’t do it for a variety of reasons – personal and professional. I had a blast doing The Hulk. I don’t mean to sound snotty but I don’t aspire to spend that much time in my life doing those types of films. I have a lot of other things I want to do.”

I love Edward Norton. One of the best actors out there, but his Hulk ship has sailed and Mark Ruffalo is on it.

  27. I want another Hulk movie made and to have the Leader in the next movie.

  28. I want the Hulk to change into the green Hulk, then other colors like red, blue and grey.

  29. Gale Anne Hurd is a head of the division of Films rights of the charcter not Marvel Studio’s.So the Incredible Hulk 2 is still in the cards for a Sequel and Norton is sign on. Because they both are big producers and CEO too so Hurd will have her way after the Hulk TV series.
