I wouldn’t say he’s trying to make himself a non-action guy, but he is getting older and can’t be the strong action star forever so he’s showing his diversity while he can so that he’s still get roles when his Wolverine days are over. I think he is a terrific actor and wish more people thought of him as something other than just Wolverine. I thought he was just a Wolverine guy but after seeing The Prestige(one of my favorite movies) I know he’s got some serious acting skills and like to see him do other movies from now on.

With his “hard-yakka” work ethic, Hugh has proven time after time that he’s a multi-talented artist, and is more than capable to bring any role alive. Why limit himself to Wolverine when he has so much to offer? I am all for Avon Man and I am sure he will do a marvellous job with that; can’t wait! Onya mate!

Don’t forget he also starred with Ashley Judd with… um… well, that one. And Meg Ryan with, uh… the other… one. Come to think of it, he does have the acting charm to pull of a comedy (I actually did like SOMEONE LIKE YOU), but they were pretty much ignored at the box office, right? Especially KATE & LEOPOLD. Can’t say it’s his fault, of course.

Daniel F says:

Juan Carlo I was so gonna mention Kate & Leopold lol.

The Prestiege is one of my fave movies ever so I’m a fan of Hugh.

Same her, PRESITIGE is all colors of cool. I’m just saying that his rom coms haven’t done so well, even though I sorta enjoyed them (guilty pleasure plus man crush on the dude, I guess). Yes, I just said that out loud.

ms says:

He earned a Golden Globe nom for Leading Man in Comedy for Kate & Leopold. He’s sure a terrific actor and I like the fact he does so many different things (comedy, romance, action, musical, etc). So, I’m in for Avon Man. He will rock cause he is true talent. There are not many actors like him out there…

Daniel F says:

I like the idea of Avon Man it sounds like it will be enjoyable and I like Hugh. I don’t have a man crush on the guy, but he is very cool. I save my Man Crush for Jensen Ackles lol.

Robert Palmar says:

Jackman lost me when he performed a lap dance
on Barbara Walters, not once but twice,
on Broadway and then television.

Andy S says:

I like Hugh, but this movie sounds terrible. I won’t be seeing it.

C’mon Hugh, bring on Van Helsing 2!! :D

Kazuya says:

Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out to be another “Scoop”. Fingers crossed.

I think that Hugh Jackman making this movie is really going to boost my Avon sales. Woo hoo!! I’m pretty sure that Avon’s going to love all this publicity.

He was wonderful in The Fountain. I actually think that he’s a very versatile actor. He easily goes from Wolverine to musicals. Changes his looks for each role. I think he’ll do well with this one.

I don’t agree about him needing to diversify because of his age. He’s always taken different roles. Plus, at age 40 I hardly think he’s remotely close to his action hero expiration date.

Daniel F says:

Prtfvr I agree I mean plenty of actors still do action after 40 and when he looks as ripped as he does all the time who cares how old he is he still looks like he can kick ass. I hated The Fountain, but is performance was good.

prtfvr says:

@Daniel

I didn’t like The Fountain either but I am sometimes able to recognize good acting when I see it. That movie was just too depressing for me. Plus I didn’t realize I’d have to use my brain so much before I watched it. ;)

but I love me some superheroes and Wolverine is my favorite. I’d much rather see action than romance but I’ll make an exception for him. Maybe he’ll kick someone’s butt in the movie. It could happen. ;)

Daniel F says:

I didn’t think there was any point in using your brain with The Fountain even if you used it the movie would still make no sense lol.
