For the first time in the history of The Masked Singer, the series introduced theme nights, and they have revitalized the show in season 8. So far, the popular series has hosted Vegas, TV, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Muppets, '90s, and Hall of Fame Nights. Upcoming theme nights include Comedy Roast, Fright Night, and Thanksgiving.

The Masked Singer theme nights have breathed new life into the show for many reasons. Not only do they influence the song choices, costumes, and sets, but they also provide clues to the contestants' identities. When contestants are chosen to fit certain themes, the panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger have an easier time guessing, and it narrows down the possibilities for the audience as well. The theme nights were a welcome addition to the show in season 8, shaking up the format, and bringing new surprises.

On TV Theme Night, the Mummies were revealed to be The Brady Bunch brothers, Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter), and Mike Lookinland (Bobby). Jeff Dunham performed as Pi-Rat on Vegas Night, while Joey Lawrence rocked the stage on '90s Night, as Walrus. On The Masked Singer Hall of Fame Night, two legends in their fields, George Foreman (Venus Fly Trap) and George Clinton (Gopher), were unmasked, to the delight of everyone who watched the episode.

Vegas Night marked the return of The Masked Singer season 1 runner-up Donny Osmond (Peacock). He appeared as a guest panelist, while Blue Man Group and Carrot Top also had stints on the series. Tori Spelling, who was Unicorn in season 1, returned for The Masked Singer TV Theme Night, along with Jodie Sweetin. The Masked Singer theme nights make the episodes more cohesive because all the songs match the theme of the night, which makes it thrilling for viewers. Fans of TV theme songs, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and '90s music eagerly anticipated which of their favorite tunes would be performed. In addition, the panelists have been singing on many of the episodes. On TV Theme Night, Robin Thicke presented a moving tribute to his father, the late Alan Thicke, by singing the theme song to Growing Pains, on which Alan starred. Nicole Scherzinger also gifted the audience with her incredible vocals during The Masked Singer Andrew Lloyd Webber Night, when she sang "Memory," and Hall of Fame Night, when she sang, "Fame." In addition, the whole panel delighted viewers when they sang "Rainbow Connection" with Kermit on Muppets Night.

The Masked Singer theme nights have pulled together each episode of the show. Everything is related to the theme, which makes the episodes very entertaining. The series is always more fun when contestants' identities are challenging to figure out, but not so difficult that the audience has no chance of guessing correctly. The theme nights narrow down the choices, and make the show even more enjoyable.
