An amazing cosplay of Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West won an award at MCM Comic Con, and developer Guerrilla Games has now celebrated the fantastic recreation. The 2017 open-world adventure casts players as Aloy, a skilled hunter who lives in a post-apocalyptic world populated by animalistic machines. The game's colorful cast has inspired many Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West cosplays, including one skillful recreation of the mysterious mentor Sylens.
Taking place in a world that barely survived an apocalyptic event, Horizon Zero Dawn sees protagonist Aloy embark on a journey to learn the truth. During her quest, Aloy comes across truly unique machinery ranging from peaceful, deer-like Grazers to a heavily-armed Tyrannosaurus Rex robot called a Thunderjaw. She also meets plenty of human characters, with many of them serving as memorable allies throughout the experience. Aloy's father-figure Rost, the boisterous warrior Erend and the master hunter Talanah all add depth to the title's narrative. Aloy herself has become a recognizable PlayStation icon, with fans paying tribute to the warrior through art and cosplay. For example, one fan combined Horizon Zero Dawn's Aloy with a Bokoblin in a fitting crossover with fellow open-world title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The breathtaking recreation, constructed by Instagram user opal.ink.cosplay, reportedly won an award at the recent MCM Comic Con. The cosplayer captures every detail of the digital hero, from her outfit to her iconic hair color and style. Even Aloy's iconic bow is brought to life by opal.ink.cosplay, making it appear as though the protagonist walked right out of the post-apocalyptic world of Horizon Zero Dawn.
While Horizon Zero Dawn managed to astound many gamers with its detailed, open world and lovable protagonist, the game's upcoming sequel promises to push the envelope even further. Guerrilla Games' Horizon Forbidden West will take Aloy to a brand-new setting, located in the ruins of America's West Coast, and introduce a number of never-before-seen mechanical monsters. The titular Forbidden West is said to feel even more alive than the previous game's setting, with new clans and machines adding variety while behaving even more believably than before.
Due to her cheerful determination and some fantastic voice work by Ashly Burch, Aloy has become a highly recognizable figure in the gaming community.
