Would be a good idea, if it was 30 years ago.

Cantizzle says:

why God? why?

Andy S says:

***shakes head in disgust***

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

What Andy S, Cantizzle, and Steve said.

(Kahless sharpens bat’leth in anticipation of war against Hollywood) :-)

Daniel F says:

It’s doomed to suck and I’m gonna watch it. I loved Hong Kong Phooey as a kid it was a awesome show lol.

T says:

Well I’ve yet to hear anyone’s voice that remotely sounds like Scatman Crouthers and without that it’s doomed from the onset.

Gary says:

I was expecting this one.
After the success of Hong Kong Panda, it was inevitable.
I wish them Luck.

Ross Miller says:

@Gary,

Hong Kong Panda? Do you mean Kung FU Panda? If not, I’d like to see the one YOU’RE talking about! :)

Gary says:

Ross,
your right.
My bad.

As always, Hollywood suits are idiots and writers their whores! Another flop on the way. Why don’t they just give the money to charity. They’d garner more fans than this movie.

Jago says:

Say what you want to say but i’d love to see either a live action movie or some animated movie of the hanna barbera wacky races… I used to love seeing that… Matter of fact still do.

Johnny-K of Norway says:

what is next? A superfriends movie, instead of JL moive?

David says:

Whoa. All signs point to this being a monumental train wreck.

Unfortunately, Alvin and the Chipmunks did not have “terrible results,” at least from a financial standpoint.

hamlet3k says:

Ugh. Isn’t in appropriate that Ratner’s production company is called Rat Entertainment? Because it spreads the plague…

I was never a fan of “Hong Kong Phooey”, even back in the eighties. And now — Jeez, I dunno — now, it just feels like outdated cultural appropriation. I feel a bit icky looking at Phooey’s gi and “wacky” chop-socky stances, rather how I feel when I think of Mickey Rooney’s bucktoothed, yellow-faced performance in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Paul Young says:

@Ross – YYOu never saw Hong Kong Panda and his partner Tiawan Turtle?

Cantizzle says:

CAPTAIN CAAAAAAAAAAA-VVVVVVEEEEEEE MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!!!

Josh R says:

Gotta wonder about the thought behind this one is. Scooby-Doo, Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks are all at least kinda still relevent. This movies obviously directed towards kids, but are there any kids who have actually seen this show?

All I know, is they better not pull an Underdog and him on all-fours.

Daniel F says:

Josh R the kids don’t have to know what it’s about. Being based on Hong Kong Phooey may bring in a few parents and have them drag their kids to it. Just being a kids film will bring kids in. Thousands of properties almost exactly like this, but with no previous history on film come out and do very well.

SIN187UM says:

Wow Hollywood all i can say is FAIL with a capital L.

Aside from just being odd and out of place Ic an already see the stereo types portrayed by the film and fabricated by the masses.
