‘Hit & Run’ Trailers: Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell & Bradley Cooper Get Fast and Furious

Published 3 years ago by , Updated July 18th, 2013 at 9:38 am,

Dax Shepard (When In Rome, Idiocracy) writes, co-directs and stars in Hit & Run, an action/comedy flick about a former bank robber named Charlie Bronson (Shepard) who is trying to settle down with his girl (Shepard’s real-life beau, Kristen Bell), only to get pulled back into the crime world by a former accomplice (Bradley Cooper) who claims that Charlie owes him for the jail time and… man-on-man violation… he suffered in place of his friend.

If you can’t tell by that description, the Hit & Run red-band trailer below will contain some dialogue that is absolutely NSFW. If you’re just looking to get a… cleaner sense of the film, the trailer posted above should be sufficient.

Co-helming the film with Shepard is his pal David Palmer, who directed the indie action comedy Brother’s Justice, starring… Dax Shepard. If you can’t see the pattern forming yet: this is one of those Ocean’s 12-style films: just a bunch of friends having a good time.

Check out some of the more hilarious dirty scenes in the film by watching the Hit & Run red-band trailer below:

Also in for the fun are familiar faces like Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Rosenbaum, Beau Brides, David Keochner, Joy Bryant and Tom Arnold. A few of whom, you can see in the Hit & Run poster below:

The red-band trailer for the film contains some surprisingly funny raunchy gags – the running one about Cooper’s character’s traumatic prison story being especially funny. The film has a tone that hovers between vintage kitsch and contemporary raunch-com; the fact that Shephard was able to pull together such an impressive cast of friends and collaborators instantly gives Hit & Run a bigger profile than it would otherwise have. Throw in the cutesy bit about Shepard and Bell starring onscreen together, and there are enough points of interest to make it worthy of a look.

Dax Shepard has been floating through Hollywood for years now, starting with his breakout in the original version of Punk’d that aired in the early 2000s. He’s had steady exposure on NBC’s Parenthood as of late – but if this film can manage some breakout success, Hit & Run could be the vehicle that really launches Shepard to the next level. The guy clearly has the ambition (and apparently the versatility).

Hit & Run will be in theaters on August 24, 2012.

  6. Well, I guess this pretty much answers the question of what Drive would’ve looked like if it were made by Hollywood. It’s probably still entertaining, but I’m getting a bit tired of those comedy cliches like naked old people and prison-rape.

  7. Dax is hilarious! I saw a screening of this and it’s the funniest movie I’ve seen since The Hangover.

  8. Lol def looks funy eniff for theaters
