After years of dating, The Hills: New Beginnings stars Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter got married in 2018, but the couple has since split. From the start, Brody and Kaitlynn seemed to not be on the same page about anything, including starting a family. They also had to deal with persistent gossip about whether or not they had an open relationship. Most shocking of all, some reports indicated that they were never actually legally married. When they discussed making it official, it was obvious neither was entirely devoted to the relationship. About a year after the Bali marriage ceremony, they broke up and ended the relationship.

Immediately after the split with Brody Jenner, Kaitlynn Carter earned unprecedented media attention. For instance, she was spotted kissing Miley Cyrus on a boat, and Miley had yet to announce her divorce from Liam Hemsworth. All in all, no one could've seen that new couple coming. For some time, the two embarked on a whirlwind romance and seemed inseparable. But the flame fizzled out as quickly as it began. Miley soon moved on to another relationship with singer Cody Simpson, who had previously dated Gigi Hadid.

The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter has written about that complicated period of her love life in a personal essay for Elle. She also admitted on Instagram that she was "going through some sh*t". Since her breakup with Miley Cyrus, Kaitlynn has mostly kept her personal life out of the spotlight. She appears to be primarily focusing on her career and business endeavors now, which includes the podcast The Bright Side and her role as an ambassador for the American Wild Horse Campaign.

In turn, Brody Jenner has had a number of short-lived, high-profile relationships since breaking up with Kaitlynn, including a fling with Josie Canseco. After that breakup, he quickly moved on to Allison Mason, then dated TikTok Clubhouse founder Daisy Keech. His last public relationship, which has since ended, was with stylist Briana Jungwirth. Briana is perhaps best known for having a child with OneDirection's Louis Tomlinson. In the meantime, both he and Kaitlynn are slated to return to The Hills: New Beginnings, which will reportedly resume filming soon. However, only a few episodes were filmed before the pandemic shut production down. TMZ reported that Brody was the one who pushed MTV to continue filming the series in Los Angeles, even though the network had initially considered switching to a different location.

Despite the drama and the ways that they both quickly moved on, there appears to be no hard feelings between Brody and Kaitlynn. They've remained friends and were even spotted having dinner together in January 2020. Viewers will have to see if there's any lingering tension between the exes when The Hills: New Beginnings returns for season 2.
