This week, when NBC announced their 2010/2011 primetime schedule, the news that every Heroes fan was dreading became reality – the series was canceled.
Considering the series has been on a decline since the second season, the announcement of Heroes cancelation was inevitable. Although, creator Tim Kring and NBC have both commented that while the series has technically been canceled, Heroes is NOT over.
On Monday, NBC executives confirmed that they will be talking to series creator Tim Kring after their upfront presentation about the possibility of a Heroes television movie. Yesterday, Tim Kring released a heartfelt statement not only thanking the 45 million fans around the world for watching, but also confirming that he is indeed close to finalizing a deal that would not only continue the series, but bring closure to superhero drama.

I want to first extend my deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the legion of enthusiastic fans who have watched ‘Heroes’ on TV, online, DVR, DVD and mobile over the last four seasons. Every week more than 45 million TV viewers around the world, as well as millions of social and digital media-based fans, have made ‘Heroes’ one of the five most-watched shows across traditional and digital media screens in the history of television. For NBC, I certainly understand the challenge of creating a business model around a show which arrived precisely as the audience was finding new ways to watch traditional content on multiple screens. I personally have had 12 great years with my friends at NBC, and with ‘Heroes,’ they provided me a rare opportunity to put a message of hope, interconnectivity and global consciousness into the world. For that I am grateful and look forward to finalizing our discussion about a number of ways to keep the ‘Heroes’ universe alive for its fans.
If Heroes is such an international phenomenon, with fans around the world wanting the series to continue, perhaps this would the perfect situation for a foreign network to step in and share the production costs of the show.
That way, NBC won’t have to foot the entire bill and will be able to be more lenient with its ratings expectations. Although, with NBC’s recently announced primetime line-up looking incredibly weak, Heroes, like Chuck, just might be what the network needs – guaranteed ratings.

MY FAVORITE SHOW CANT END THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got into heroes on netflix I’m on eps 74 out of 77. I really hope the season has an ending or just keeps continuing for that matter , this show is a lot better than most if the crap on tv . Please keep the episodes coming .
i think it needs to at least end the story and not leave it how it is and to all who sayin its not good and doesnt need to come back…its way better than jersey shore and all that other reality garbage especially on MTV. if the Kardashian family can have a show than heroes def needs to be on.

i hope that heroes (since it was so connected to star trek on a weird level) goes the same route as star trek. I hope they can do a Heroes: the next generation or something like that.

I think that there should either be a final full season or at the very least ended with 4-6 week mini series of 2hr episodes. Two hours alone would not be enough time to give full closure. This was one of my favorite series and it ended abruptly just like The 4400. Sad for the fan base. Lots of other nonsense goes on and on and on. I like the Hero’s The Next Generation Idea. I think another network could even pick it up. Hey movies might be good also Like X-Men. Sylar should be a good guy & only use his abilities against evil, Mabe they could bring Nathan back within sylar as a schizophrenic or he and Claire should get together Like Adam and eve immortals. All I know is that Sylar and others with abilities should be able to find Love that lasts.

i own all the sets….make a movie….people will buy them….i would pay what it cost to get them….if people enjoyed it so much as they say….they will buy them also…. thank you to the cast….we love the heroes
I started watching heroes on netflix 2 weeks ago and finished today. I am proud to say that this is the best show ever, but sad that it was cancelled. I am asking to please put the show back on. How can you leave your fans thinking on what can or could’ve happen. Like if sylar really ended up being a good guy, found love and had a family, or if claire really became a lesbian,or did she found love in a man. And what about hiro and ando c’mon they were the funniest in the show something great should have happen with those two; there were my favorite. I definitely agree with one of the viewers that commented about that if we are really big fans we should all cooperate and help out with the funds,i know i am willing to help and donate because i really want to see the show back on. With all that said i like to thank the creator of heroes and the full line cast you guys are amazing,talented and awesome i love you guy, you guys rock.
Why oh Why?! I still can’t get over the fact the series was cancelled, NBC is doing terrible in the ratings with some of their shows, bring it back, I have all the seasons on DVD and watch them over and over! bring it back!!!
I started watching HEROES on netflix a week ago and I am already on episode 72 ….. I was very surprised at the show didn’t have any series after season 4 ….. although I am not finish I know that people along with myself would love to have this show come back on tv …
I really like and enjoy watching this show. I hope that this series comes back and that Peter gets his full powers back the way they were before he lost them to his father. of course I am still in season three on my box set and a little upset tht he loses a power when he gains another, but it is still a great show and want to see more of it.

I really want heroes to return, i am so close to finishing them all and i am really dreading the end! i will probably watch them over and over again afterwards!!!
just got done watching the whole series, five mins ago, man i hope the reason it canceled is because of funding, because givin a gift of imagination, and being able to create such an amazing show, and then stopping or giving up would sure be a shame and a lot worse of a reason to stop… hope you consider bringing it back
as someone has said,if every fan gave 20 bucks they could continue the show…thats means paying for the show…me myself i use pirated copies all the time but seriously i would pay for this series to come back..so someone make an article about this and maybe even manage to talk to the producers…make a simple episode just to see hwo the income comes…i believe if you clearify that money is the problem p[eople would understand…make a video for the comeback…encourage people to pay for it…maybe it comes back…
My children and I are just finishing this amazing series on Netflix. It is something we can watch together and not be embarrassed to talk about. We would be excited to watch a TV movie, as well as see the series come back in any manner! Maybe some deal could be made with Netflix or other internet medium. Please keep us posted as we are anxious to continue on the HEROS adventure!
We loved heroes when it was on and still love it. We recently re-watched the entire series on netflix and it’s amazing. I really hope they can work something out and either make one finale movie or (preferably) continue the series. It’s definitely one of the best series of my generation…ranks right up there with Charmed & that ran for like 10 seasons with an actual ending…sort of…at least I was able to see it go but no finish is just unfair…..BRING IT BACK!!!!!

I wasn’t sad when Heroes was cancelled. I was sad when the show got stupid and stopped watching it after a few episodes into the 3rd season. LOST almost went to that same path but redeemed itself. I would watch a Heroes TV movie though.
If anything NBC should bring back the Donnely’s show. Wasn’t given a fair shot considering it was released when the series finale of the Sopranos was happening.
I HAVE WATCHED ALL FOUR SEASONS AND I AM SO UPSET AT THE FACT THAT THEY DISCONTINUED THIS AWESOME SHOW. PLEASE TIM KRING BRING THIS SHOW BACK WHO CARES IF IT HAS BEEN A COUPLE YEARS SINCE THE LAST SEASON. PEOPLE ARE STILL WATCHING AND HOPING THAT ONE DAY THIS SHOW WILL ARISE AGAIN.
