FOX Renews ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ for Two More Seasons

Gordon Ramsay Hells Kitchen FOX Renews Hell’s Kitchen for Two More Seasons

If you fancy a side of @$%# with your painstakingly prepared #!&@%, then FOX ‘s recent announcement regarding Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen should seriously whet your appetite. The foul-mouthed British chef will bring his profanity-laced outbursts back to FOX for the ninth and tenth seasons of the highly rated reality program.

It seems Ramsay has a knack for bringing as many people around a television screen as he does a dinner table. Hell’s Kitchen has a workman like quality – performing well, no matter where FOX shuffles it into its lineup. This fact is well known by executive producer Arthur Smith.

“The thing about Hell’s Kitchen is you can put it anywhere — spring, summer, fall, opposite Modern Family and Survivor. It’s very satisfying to see what people think of a food show is that broad-based.”

Hell’s Kitchen routinely performs well in the 18-49 demographic, often besting its ratings from the year prior. The most recent season managed to snag over 6 million viewers. The show has performed so well in fact, it has generated two other chef-centric programs for FOX: Master Chef and Kitchen Nightmares – both based on their Ramsay led UK predecessors.

To compliment the upcoming ninth season, the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant will be getting a bit of a facelift. According to Smith, one of the more noticeable additions will be a balcony seating a guest table over the pass (the place where food is checked and finalized before being served).

“We always feel like we have to continue to outdo ourselves. We really feel this is our space and we owe it to viewers to continue to reach.”

Gordon Ramsay yelling FOX Renews Hell’s Kitchen for Two More Seasons

Gordon Ramsay mentoring a pupil on 'Hell's Kitchen'

Those who have watched Ramsay on his various programs, know that for all the yelling, cursing and dumping of poorly prepared risotto, he is a passionate professional who, at one point, was juggling six simultaneously airing television programs and 25 restaurants. That kind of success (i.e. tremendous work ethic) may not excuse the behavior for those who don’t appreciate his special brand of mentoring, but it should help put his tirades into better perspective.

At any rate, when it comes to programming centered on the competitive aspirations of those I wouldn’t entrust to hose down a kennel, let alone cook my food, Hell’s Kitchen manages to capture the true spirit of reality television: watching people fail, but with the added bonus of being berated by a man whose acid tongue was the basis for the xenomorph’s blood in Alienprobably.

As far as the next two seasons go, I only have one request: will everyone please stop %$#@-ing up the Beef Wellington?

Look for season nine of Hell’s Kitchen to air sometime late summer 2011.

  1. Now the question is,
Will they renew Fringe as well?

  2. Hell yeah! I love this show. It is so good. Lol. Ramsey is the man.

  3. YESSSS!!!

Hells kitchen is amazing def watching it! :D

  4. I don’t even like reality programming, but I admit that his antics based on the chefs’ stupidity is entertaining…and the food, oh, the food!

  5. I’m just waiting for someone to take a cast-iron skillet to Ramsey’s face. The guy is a complete douche. If he actually had any talent, he wouldn’t need to resort to cussing and being an a$$hole on TV.

    • Actually, he has a great deal of talent; beside the fact that he is a well-respected chef, he’s parlayed that ability into the successful ownership and running of a few highly reviewed, highly frequented restaurants.

Yes, he’s foul-mouthed in the extreme, but the competitors on the show are even worse…foul-mouthed AND petty. They deserve his peculiar version of “tough love”.

  6. When I do find myself in watching reality tv, this show is entertaining.

I also like Kitchen Nightmares. Ramsay,s soft side shines through in that series. :)

  7. I’m tired of being overcharged for low quality food at supposedly “fancy” restaurants. And I love seeing ramsey calling out these Kitchen criminals that call themselves chefs and restauranteurs. I love it when he yells at these crooks and puts them in their place on Kitchen Nightmares.

How can pasta be freshly made if it was shipped frozen a month ago? Go Ramsey!

  8. Ramsay’s tirades are nothing new for me – one of my father’s colleagues living in what used to be Rhodesia had a personal chef unofficially trained by the cordon bleu school of cooking. (Unofficially because he was an African and unable to leave Africa but my colleague’s wife HAD been to the Cordon Bleu and taught the man what they had taught her. This was some 30+ years ago – while the area was under British influence). Anyway this chef had a ferocious temper where his assistants were concerned – the only difference was he used different languages to yell at and berate his assistants!! Ramsay has only confirmed for me what I already instinctively knew at that time – he was not happy about something – and he had reason to be that exacting. His job was on the line every time he served dinner, and he had family in Mozambique that he was supporting.

Ramsay’s job may not be on the line but his name and reputation are – and that is enough to cause anyone to go ballistic once in awhile.

  9. Make that his colleague’s wife…fingers a little behind the brain sometimes

  10. Are you kidding me- Fox is only bringing back “Hell’s Kitchen,”
For two more seasons?? That is absolutely non-sense… The Best
Television show, With a loyal fan base & Fox only wants to bring
it back for Two more seasons.. WOW, What an insult to “Chef Ramsey
& his loyal fan base.. The show (Hells Kitchen,) is too damn good
to be taken off the air.. Give me a break…

    • Ummm, you DO realize that for a network (particularly, the ever-unsatisfied, unstable FOX) to renew a show for not just one more season, but TWO more seasons, says a lot about the numbers of and loyalty to “Hell’s Kitchen”. Shows don’t get picked up ten years at a time; in fact, usually, they get renewed per number of episodes ordered (half a season, a whole season, etc.).

This news is a good (no, a GREAT) thing for Ramsay watchers…Don’t get your panties in a bunch.

  11. when is the date of airing hell kitchen next season

    • The airing date for HK is July 19,2011

  12. The Movie was a real work out and the cold felt so real and the story line was great and what really got to me was that she was smart and strong and creative and way out there as a Hunter and she lived a life like no other life. But at the end there was a price to pay and all who came after her should had stayed away. Because she was powerful and strong and all she was doing was to protect herself and keep herself safe. She though well on her toes and got throw life learning fast.

  13. Yes Hamburgers are great, When they are made right of course Mrs Dash season is wonderful to add along with Garlic and Parsley and small sliced walla white onions and grill it and the Bun should have Butter on it and placed in a pan to let it get brown and Then homemade mayo with extra mustard added and sweet pickle and a tomato with just alittle green slice lettice and swiss cheese with extra sharp chedder cheese but…Burgers can be made so many ways I love yellow and red and orange peppers roasted with salt and pepper and extra press olive oil and then added to the hamburger meat and there are so many directions to go and of course..Beer Batter onion rings added to it and Honey Bacon is another way to go and Volka Mushrooms would really blow Sir Chef Gordon Ramsay away.

  14. Fear of leaving is what goes on in a person mind and one bad day can do it for you and in Hells kitchen the key to staying is to make each day like it is your last and that means working you bottom off until you drop and that means you have to be tired and dead on your feet each and every day and that means your doing a great job and as long as you don’t hit that chopping block means your still not safe, Because you can get tired of working hard and you may not think straight if your worried about the time and when a person goes on Hell’s kitchen it is all about giving that time to the show and knowing that it is going to be 7 or 8 weeks give or take and so it is better to have your bills paided of or to simply take your bills with you and so it can be mailed off in a timely manner or simply pay off all your bill and just think about each and every day that your lucky to just go for the ride and give your time to a cause and that is boot camp and that means you have to reach deep inside your soul and bring everything to the table and that means your bringing all your no how and gifts to the table and letting the whole world know what you can do and what you know and what is great is that Chef Gordon Ramsay and his group of friends and people that eat wonderful outstanding food to his place are trying his food and your food and that is reason to be proud of yourself and you really have to look at the big picture and really put your best foot forward.

  15. I am really Happy about 2 more seasons of Hell’s kitchen is added to Fox that is a real great move and that means I will keep watching and enjoying this fantastic gift to the world.. It is so wonderful to see a man who has Pride in his Food and that is fantastic and refreshing and nice to see some one who really cares about other people and The Anger is Madness of some one who has no care or pride, You see Chef can see that the person did not pay attention to how things are done and they shut down and did not listen or the details where not important to them and that simply means they did not care?

  16. Kitchen Nightmare should be a Nightmare for Chef Gordon Ramsay and Moe was rude and ungrateful and cold and Heartless and He has fail to understand that out of all the places in the world He was picked to Help out and that He was lucky and Blessed to have Chef Gordon Ramsay come to his door step and that is something that made me mad the other night and that gave me the Major creeps about Moe and yes words hurt and they crush your spirits but they are just words and words really hurt but you can say words back to the person but Moe made me feel like working away and leaving him with his problems and let him fail on his own, Because that was going to happen to him, If Chef Ramsay did not open his eyes….His life would had taken a Broken turn in life and all he has to do is open his eyes and understand that without Chef Gordon Ramsay? Nothing in his life would had changed and He would still have to suffer the way..The way he would had suffer without him. And He should thank his lucky stars that Chef Ramsay had his back and cover his butt.Dear Moe the way you talk to Chef Ramsay if I would had been there and it was me. I would had left you there and not do one single thing for you. I am sorry but I would had left you in the dust.
