I thought it would end after they disapperated out of Lovegood’s house, but after the reading the story again i realized how much of the first half of the book is just them sitting around doing nothing or planning of what they are going to do. I see why they would end the movie after Dobby’s Death. Really excited!!!!

**SPOILER ALERT**

So, as far as reading the book, obviously I have done so. I think this is a pretty decent spot to end the movie because it really is sort of turning point in the story. Harry realizes that Dumbledore wanted him to understand the hallows without going after them, destroying You-Know_Who is what’s most important. I was really excited about the Gringotts scene but I can wait. I think most people who feel the information they’ve left out will make it hard to understand the story and will therefore hurt the film; that’s the whole reason, I’m think, they’re splitting seven into two movies. I think fans should be grateful for another full length Harry Potter. Plus, I’m sure they’ll add in extra lines to catch people up. I don’t think people who’ve not read the books should watch the movies. The movies compel people to read the books and if you already know what is going to happen, it really does take away from J.K. Rowling’s twisted and fantastic world she has created.

What chapter is this that they are talking about that it will split? I am pretty sure it’s 23 “Malfoy Manor” But I’m not sure. I would like to know because I’m re-reading it again and haven’t gotten there yet but I can’t remember.

I actually initially thought that’s a good ending too since it’s actually right in the kiddle of the book. but i guess it is kind of lacking in activity, if u consider it movie-wise.
on the other hand, i also think this ending – after Malfoy manor and Dobby’s death – is a bit too much into the story ’cause that leaves just breaking into Gringott’s and Hogwarts’ battle. unless of course they decide to put in immense detail in the Hogwarts’ scene (doubtful).
I think, perhaps, after Lovegood,s house would be an ok ending because it would’ve been a good start into the next part with the introduction of Deathly Hallows. but i realise the director probably thought he shoudln’t make the audience wait until the next part to get to know the Hallows.
ah well…..just hope it’s ok, however it is.

I’m like a harry potter fanatic & have read teh books so many times that i have them memorised by heart & i’va watched the movies a million times. The last movie was a huge dissapointment, they left out sooo much,the others haev also left a lot of shyt out but not taht crucial stuff, unlike the 6th one, i can’t wait for the next one & the fact that they’ve split it into 2 movies has got my hopes up that maybe this time they’re not gunna leave out shyt but yuh never know so i cna’t wait. I think ending it when they escape malfoy manor, dobby dying, & later on voldemort getting the elders wand is an awesome time to end it.

You made me question myself so
I had to check. Voldemort gets Elder Wand at the end of Ch. 24 The Wandmaker, which is the chapter with Dobbys funeral. It’s just before Gringotts.

For fun, you should reread the end of that chapter; it’s was basically written to be the end of Part 1 – exciting escape from Malfoy Manor, sad ending with Dobby funeral while Voldemort speeds to Hogwarts and gets the Elder Wand. I can’t wait!
