This week, we’ve seen a burst of New Moon propaganda ranging from RPattz’ confirmation of a fourth Twilight movie to an MTV Movie Awards clip premiere and a new poster all to sway teen hearts. Not to be outdone, the wizards at Hogwarts have announced that Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) will also premiere a clip from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at the MTV Movie Awards.

With a release two months away, the MTV Awards Show has become prime real estate to let fans know the Harry Potter phenomenon isn’t over. More importantly, it will finally go up against Twilight in a test of content and quality. I suspect Potter-director, David Yates, will provide a clip more polished that is geared towards getting teens to movie theater seats in two months time, and the other clip will be heavy in dialogue seeing as how New Moon only started principal photography on April 16. No word on how long each clip is, but Harry Potter does have few 30 sec. clips for your viewing pleasure.
That’s right Twilighters, Harry Potter sees your MTV clip premiere and raises you “4 New TV Spots.” What? You had a new poster this week too? Well, not to mention the plethora of Potter posters that are already out, but MSN premiered yet another poster while Warner Bros. has provided the clip originally aired on the Ellen show.

Entitled “I’m in love with her,” the clip features Ron starstruck and having a conversation with Harry in the Hogwarts dorms. The glimpse reveals the other “villain” attacking the school of magic, teenage hormones.
My distaste for Twilight is well documented; trust me, you don’t want to walk down that road. I prefer the quality writing of J.K. Rowling and wizards, over my historic appeal for vampires. If I was forced to choose, it’s Harry Potter over Twilight any day of the week.
These TV Spots and those recent sweet character posters remind us that Voldemort is just around the corner. The Muggle and Wizard world isn’t safe and the danger creeps closer and closer, perhaps even within the Hogwarts castle. Can Dumbledore prepare Harry enough for the inevitable final battle?

Harry Potter will of course be the better movie IMO, but since MTV Movie Awards(AKA the most meaningless award show ever) are mostly for tweens I fear “Twilight” even beating “The Dark Knight” for best movie.
I can’t wait to see this movie!!!! All the trailers have been awesome and all the new clips are brilliant! I just want to see this movie already.
And totally agree with Matt K…twilight will probably win every category, not only because of the audience but also because MTV owns Summit, which is the distributor of the Twilight movie.

Best thing I’ve ever heard about “Twilight” came from my wife: “My salvation is that I KNOW when I was thirteen, I still wouldn’t liked those books. Buffy wouldn’t even bother killing these vamps. She’d be all, ‘I’d dust you, but then I’d be covered in your glitter… and you can’t brush glitter off no matter HOW hard you try!’”
Twilight or HP? Are you kidding? I’d put Longbottom up against the strongest vampire in Twilight any day. I’d love to see Twilight go up against HP in the theater; does the phrase “total, complete, absolute annihilation” mean anything?

hey I love the HP series, but anything that gets kids to read is a good thing imho. In this world of WoW and online games and the Wii, I’m simply happy for anything that parks my kid’s tush in a chair and has him lose himself for a while in a different world. I don’t see why both series can’t peacefully coexist like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and who says you can’t like both?
This film will get the summer crown (for highest grossing film). Hands down…

One of the things I love most about Potter is that it attracts ALL age groups. Not just kids. I started reading the books and watching the films when I was 12 and I’m 22 now and I love them even more.

There’s reading… and then there’s reading Twilight–they’re not on the same level. More than likely, kids would replicate all the same character/grammar/plot flaws in their own stories (and lives).
I love harry potter! who doesn’t–don’t answer that. i like twilight too, but it’s like, hey, there’s no magic. i’m a fantasy person. Harry would beat Edward’s butt no problem!
I don’t understand why people feel the need to mention Twilight whenever Harry Potter is brought up and vice versa. They’re absolutely nothing alike and shouldn’t be compared in anyway at all. I know it’s because HP kind of dominated the literary world for 10 years and the media always feels the need to refer to the new thing as the “new harry potter.” But the whole thing is pointless in my opinion.
I can’t wait to see Half Blood Prince! It’s going to be Brilliant!
Hmm harry potter who changed the reading world forever and has live like characters and almost flawless plots or twilight whose only purpose when it was only mentioned briefly two years ago was to create some buzz in the mainstream media and giving tween girls a reason to masturbate even more… i think potter wins with his infamous ‘expelliarmus!’

i have read both book series i like them both but i love the harry potter movies but not the twilight ones their pathetic and a disgrace.
i think the reason people put twilight and harry potter together are because a lot of people like them. should it be up to us to say one is better than the other? it took brilliant minds to come up with the cahllenging ideas like those, and as an author, i would know. we should just be happy that people are reading and make friends by liking these books. why risk hurting people’s feelings? i’d like to see you write a better book than J.K. Rowling or Stephenie Meyer! We should enjoy these books in a way to let our own minds create new ways to show the world who we are!
by the way cahllenging is suppose to be challenging opps!
