I think that Bonnie does a horrible job portraying Ginny. She seems meek and awkward the whole movie. It's very clear she hasn't done any acting besides the Potter movies. She's trying to play the sexy and powerful role that Ginny has from the books but she's not believable at all. It's too bad because the Ginny in the book stands out a lot more and better matches Harry's status. Ginny's character is the only one I imagine completely different while I read than from the movie's.

I am a woman and even I think Bonnie Wright is a knockout! She is a huge up and coming actress. She has talent that is going to far out do Emma (Hermione).

She is going to have far more of a part in the Deathly Hallows. Particually in Part 2 - movie 2. As the filming of the Deathly Hallows is coming in two installments.

I would turn gay for her. Pity she has little dress sense. She still carrys it off but... some of her red carpet appearances have been....well....a little on the odd side.

I think Bonnie Wright is a complete knockout!!

man, I love Bonnie Wright, and Ginny Weasley too. I read the books, I play the videogames, I watch the movies, and my thought doesn't change. In Brazil I think I'm the only one who loves Bonnie and Ginny that much. I respect the opinion of the people that hate her, I'll never change them. Emma Watson has every problem and unbelievable mess in her life. Bonnie Wright is just Bonnie Wright, and that's why I love her, and Ginny Weasley. They're the kind of girl with whom I'd be reaaaaaally in love. What would Hermione be if everyone liked Ginny more, huh?

You americans can understand what the hell I wrote here, can't you?

    Brazil needs a Hogwarts.

well if you have read the books it was a little bit of a let down but she is still doing great and she is very pretty

I have adored Ginny and Bonnie Wright since HP1. She has gotten better and more pretty every movie and I think she did a fantasic job in HBP.
    AND I am a female.

My husband disagrees a little. He likes her, but he says Ginny was supposed to be *The* prettiest girl.

the comments left by girls that hate Bonnie are probuly not good looking,....... that about wraps up chrmdrocks case

Thank you! None of the reviews I have read have done Ms. Wright the justice she deserves for her amazing performance in this amazing film.

Not to disparage the other actors in the film, as this is perhaps the best acted “Harry Potter” film to date, however it is Bonnie Wright’s Ginny Weasley that captivated me completely, even from her very introduction.

Hers is one of the sexiest performances in recent memory. And what makes it so sexy is that Ms. Wright plays Ginny with such strength, maturity, intelligence (yes, smart is sexy), and that, underneath it all, we genuinely believe that she cares very deeply for Harry, as evidenced in the quiet, tender scenes the two share together. The fact that Ginny’s seduction of Harry clearly comes from a place of genuine love and compassion helps make the seduction that much more powerful, effective and moving.

This is even true of Ginny’s introduction in the film, when she greets Harry. Though they are obviously glad to see each other, with the subtlest of behavior, they indicate that there is now something very powerful between them.

Later, after Harry has had an encounter with Malfoy, and is bruised and bleeding, Ron or Hermione asks why Harry has blood on his face, to which Ginny replies “He always has blood on his face,” her voice heavy with concern. As Harry sits next to her, Ginny then gently wipes the blood off of his face, their eyes on each other the entire time.

When Harry decides he must let go of his textbook that once belonged to the titular Half-Blood Prince, Ginny is there to help him hide it, so that even he cannot find it. Before she hides it, she tells Harry to close his eyes, in an incredibly breathy, intimate half-whisper that exudes a level of sensuality and maturity that belies Ms. Wright’s young age. Needless to say, Harry and Ginny’s first kiss is only seconds away.

At the film’s conclusion, with seemingly the entirety of Hogwarts surrounding the dead body of a beloved character, everyone is shocked and saddened into stillness, as they experience a level of grief heretofore unknown. No one is taking the loss more heavily than Harry himself and absolutely no one moves – except for Ginny, who goes to Harry because she knows that in this moment, he needs her just as much as she needs him. Perhaps more so.

Though there are a few flaws in the film, they are nearly infinitesimal when weighed against the elements that work so well, chief among them Bonnie Wright’s incredible portrayal of Ginny Weasley. Her Ginny is radically intelligent, uncommonly brave, and fiercely loyal and with Harry, we see her as a compassionate partner, full of love and understanding and who effortlessly engenders feelings of trust, security, and a sense of home – something Harry desperately needs and longs for.

It is a thrilling, satisfying and deeply touching performance, for in Ginny, we see the kind of love we all dream about – but seldom find.

ChrmdRcks - I think you seem to be forgetting that the only woman we do actually see using a guy to snag another one is Hermione. She uses Cormac to annoy Ron. Ginny was dating other guys cause she liked them.

That being said, I like both - they both are brave, smart, loyal. One is more studious, one is more athletic. I love both. Go JKR for writing two wonderful females.

I can't stand Bonnie Wright or Ginny Weasley. Coming from a girl, I can't stand other girls who use their whiles to attract many different men while the entire time, knowing which one and only one she wants. It's not fair to the other men and just makes us girls look like slutty players.

There's a reason Hermione is the most popular girl in the Harry Potter book series and movies. She doesn't rely on her looks or whiles to get her through life. She actually has brains and is brave on her own, not just for the man she likes. Go Hermione!

I'm so in love with Bonnie Wright. Every minute of the film I was just waiting for her to appear, and every time it involved Harry, it was awesome. One of the sexiest scenes had to be when she cleans his face, or when she gives him a cookie or something. In fact I really loved every scene of her, she was sexy yet in a subtle way. Very nice. It's shame that in Deathly Hallows her screen time won't be that much like in this one. But then of course the movies can differ a little from the books.
  • JR
I saw the film and I had to hold my breath every time Bonnie was on the screen. Her gaze was just so seductive. Yes, her eyes make her look so sexy and mysterious that I wouldn't be surprised people are talking about how she'll be the Arwen of HP films.

    Good job Ms. Wright!
  • ginnyfan
OMG I just saw this and I totally agree! Ever since I started the series I've wanted a girl like Ginny and her appeal really came through in this movie. And yes, jumping through the fire was sexy as hell. Good job Bonnie!
  • bigDOG
Just saw this today and damn Kofi when you're right well you're right, she was a knock out in this movie, she stepped up and let the other emotional/obsessed girls have it. I hope her character gets even better in Deathly Hallows but I have a felling she will hardly be in it.

    @ Alex

"What the hell kind of an article is this?? She’s hideous and she has no presence."

Yeah, that wasn't rude to either me or Bonnie Wright. Sure bro.

Again, you won't be missed. We keep an intellectual/courtesy standard of reader on this site that you fall WELL below.
  • Kofi Outlaw
    So Long Alex,

    You won't be missed...
  • Alex
    Well Kofi,

It's a difference of opinion and I don't see how I was rude, or wrong. Actually, YOU are the one who insulted me at the cost of defending a stupid article. I'm not complaining, I loved the movie so just relax and keep writing worthless articles that feed YOUR ego and make you feel like you have all the power in the world, okay?
And don't bother replying, I will never read anything you post again.
  • Kofi Outlaw
    @ Alex

Not that I EVER have to explain anything to the likes of you, but you're not only wrong but rude. The moments with Ginny and Harry had real presence in the theater I was in. So complain all you want but in the end:

This article is here because I wrote it. Period. Sorry you don't agree but don't let too much hot air seep into your ego

"Please explain..." You must be joking...
  • Alex
What the hell kind of an article is this?? She's hideous and she has no presence. Why is this an article? Please explain.
  • Gary
Sounds Like in these last 3 Potter films,
Ginny will be what Arwen was to the LOTR films.
  • Reaper
While I think Bonnie Wright is attractive, I don't think she is quite right looks wise for how Ginny is portrayed in the book but she does have her moments.
  • @John

I hadn't planned on it since there's already a heavy discussion going on in the review, but I suppose I could...

    Vic
  • nig
    Hahahahaha Vic!
Dyou remember that one time I posted that snooty comment on keeping things the same, lest we end up discussing "chicks"?
Granted, it is movie-related, but still!
    Hahahaha
  • John "Kahless" Taylor
Hey Vic, would it be possible to start a thread for Harry Potter spoilers, like you did for Trek and Terminator?
  • alyssa
i havn't seen the movie yet beacause of some unpreventable events so could you please not give it away.
  • John "Kahless" Taylor
Both women are very lovely, and that first picture of Harry and Ginny makes Ginny look very sexy. I haven't seen the movie yet but am looking forward to it.
  • tasouli
Bonnie Wright was a good casting and she held her own really well, I dont think she is taht attractived but she definetly had a lot more sexpeal than Emma Watson. But the reason for that is that is that is how she is portrayed in the books, while Hermione is the more conservative type.

  • diane
i definitely think Bonnie Wright is prettier than emma...emma is so gorgeous on photoshoots but when you really look at her, she's just an ordinary beauty. On the other hand, when googled search on her, well, yeah, i've seen the development of Bonnie Wright.. and she's becoming prettier and prettier...she has this sweet looking face...

i watched Chamber of Secrets the other week again to remember who she is coz she's been everywhere since half-blood prince and i swear i becoming addicted to her

    Tom

Luna is just not important in any way to the Harry Potter series. She told him about Thestrals and wore some wierd specs. Big deal!!!!!
Ginny was possessed by Voldermort through one of his horcruxes's and is an extremely powerful witch. There is no contest.

And to say Bonnie Wright is unattractive. Mate I know if it's personal taste but please live in the real world.
  • Layla
Harry and Luna had chemistry ? I didn't know laughing at someone was chemistry these days ....

Loved the feature on Bonnie Wright. As a casual viewer,I agree that she definitely stood out !
