Until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits theaters in July, I expect we’ll be seeing Warner Bros. releasing more and more promotional material that plays up the idea that this is the end of the boy wizard’s adventures.

Today that marketing machine is already revving up, with a new poster for the final Harry Potter film hitting the Web, featuring the titular hero (Daniel Radcliffe) face to face with his arch-nemesis Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). As a bonus, we also have a leaked image from the film that shows the type of devastation and (gasp!) death that Harry and Co. will have to endure in their final battle.

In this second Deathly Hallows film, Voldemort has all the tools he needs to kill Harry Potter once and for all, while Harry and his loyal friends Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) continue their search for the mystical talismans (the horcruxes) that will help them, in turn, kill the dark lord. As their search leads team Potter back to Hogwarts, Voldemort learns of their plan, sparking a final showdown that only one side can walk away from. It all ends here, folks.

In order to really push Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as the action-packed showdown that we sat through the static hours of Deathly Hallows: Part 1 to fully appreciate, Warner Bros. has crafted this latest promo poster in the vein of a boxing or MMA main event. See for yourself:

BONUS: A Brazilian website snagged an image from Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which features a haggard and beaten Harry on approach to what looks like his final showdown with Voldemort. I will say upfront that certain aspects of the image could be considered a POTENTIAL SPOILER, so view at your own risk:

It’s going to be bittersweet to see these Harry Potter films bow out of theaters. I was never a big follower of J.K. Rowling’s novels, and have mostly followed the franchise through the movies. Yet, even with that loose association, watching these actors grow up and mature (and each subsequent film installment mature with them), has been an amazing journey the likes of which we may never see again in cinema, so I will definitely be there opening night to send Harry off in proper style.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be in theaters to finish the fight on July 15th.

  1. Truly it will be a sad, sad day.

    • Yes. I agree. :’(

  2. The poster is brilliant! The franchise will surely be missed. I do hope they finish it with a bang!

    • yeah ima miss the movies.. i loved the books and movies are awesome

  3. I will say, I’m not a huge fan of this poster. It doesn’t seem to show what the series has been about, and this poster reminds me of a superhero face off or something, almost as if Harry is this larger-than-life protagonist. In the last film, Harry is broken and desperate, and I’m assuming the next film will be similar with all the death and destruction that happens. Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, but I do believe that a movie poster should give us a real feel for a movie.

  4. Wow. I never imagined I would ever say this in my life but for the first time ever, I really don’t want July to come…I don’t want Harry Potter to be released…Releasing of the final part will only mean the end of the world wide phenomenon and the end of my favorite film/book series. I can’t wait to see it but at the same time I don’t want to see it.

    • Maybe Rickster can come over and you two can grieve together.

      :D

Poster looks great. Harry, Voldamort and the Elder Wand… simple and yet very telling.

  5. I absolutely LOVE this poster. I really want this one. What I love the most is the blood and destruction and that it doesn’t say HP7 or anything because everyone KNOWS what movie this is! :D

  6. hmmm this poster makes up for the lackluster posters from Part One. Still would like to see a hand drawn poster like the one from the Sorcerer’s Stone

    • I agree totally. I think those posters need to make a comeback. Posters these days just don’t seem to have the same life that the old posters did.

  7. Cool poster.

  8. That poster is cool, but sad.

    Vic

  9. It all ends. That’s a funny title. (I’m kidding of course)

  10. LOL, Voldermort is flicking of Harry.

  11. I so hope that Mrs Weasley has her duel lmao my favourite bit in the book hahaha

    • I hope molly and bellatrix have their own poster :)

  12. Yeah im sad/happy at the same time. Cant wait to see yet, I can since seeing it would mean the ending of the best series ever.

    • Best series ever? That would be Star Trek, dude. :-)

  13. GO Voldamort!….oh wait :D

It could happen, they don’t HAVE to stay true to the books! :)

    • hahaha true, true

    • Too true. As a matter of fact, the films only included about 50% of the books (all thanks to J.K Rowling for accepting those changes).

      • It’s already unrealistic enough for them to have practically the same cast intact for all the movies… even more unrealistic for the movies to stick strictly true to the books.

I’m still amazed by what they did with this franchise and like the article said, this may never happen again in cinema.

    • Naw imma go with HP on that one. Maybe Star Wars but not Star Trek.

      • Sacrilege!! Apostate!! You are not of the body!!! :-D

  14. Guys it’s: Voldemort lol

  15. This poster is frakking awesome. As much as I want to see the final movie, I really can’t fathom this series being over…..

  16. Enemy Mine anybody? :)
    http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1507302656/tt0089092

    • Ha that’s what I said earlier today!!

  17. Damn, this will be sad, so many memories and good times.

  18. cant wait for the dramtic action packed ending

  19. I’m pretty sure that spoiler picture is not Harry on his approach to the showdown. I’m not going to say what I think it is as that would be a HUGE spoiler but I don’t think it is what you think it is.

    • yeah i know what it is and true its a HUGE spoiler!

  20. I am going to say this Twisuck no matter how hard they try no matter what they do will Never NEVER be able to top HP when its all said and done and you put the numbers side by side HP will be the better series Its gonna be sad to see this go I do think its truly amazing that they were able to keep the same cast for all the movies (Hell the only reason why we have a new Dumbledore is cause the original died lol) it was just amazing to watch and I cant wait till July cause Ill be there at midnight

  21. Helpful info. Fortunate me I found your website by accident, and I am shocked why this accident didn’t came about in advance! I bookmarked it.
