We are well into the summer movie season now and so far the movies have been hit (Star Trek) or miss (Wolverine, Terminator 4). Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is looking to be in the 'hit' column and if the trailer is any indication, it should have no problem doing so.

To keep the hype building, Warner Brothers has released four new TV clips which we have for you below.

The only red flag I see here is the slight over-marketing trend Warner Brothers seem to be following. Before Terminator Salvation came to theaters, the viral market was flooded with "new" footage helping to hype the film. A lot of critics and fans were concerned that the studio felt the film couldn't hold up on it owns merit and that they need to boost hype by showing us more footage than is usually necessary.

In the case of T4, they were correct. The box office numbers prove that point, as do audience discussions and critic reviews. Watch the newly released TV spots and see if you get the same feeling for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I'm personally from the school of thought that less is more. Even though I don't normally do it, I watched all four of these spots and they show mostly the same footage.  If the last five movies are any indication, this Harry Potter film should do just fine on opening weekend.

Do the new TV spots help make up your mind to see the film or were you planning on seeing it anyway?

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens in theaters July 15, 2009.
