Warner Bros. has bestowed upon us a brand new theatrical trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the two-part conclusion to the most successful movie franchise of all time.

After six magic-filled installments, Harry, Ron and Hermione have to face up to the evil Lord Voldermort in a battle that feels very much like the culmination of everything that’s happened so far.

Along with familiar faces there’s also some new actors joining the franchise for its final journey including Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans and David O’Hara (Wanted). The Harry Potter franchise has always had a wonderful cast of great (often classic British) actors, just one of the many things the series has to offer.

I know it’s the marketing team’s job to make every movie look good but the trailers for Deathly Hallows so far have looked pretty spectacular and this latest one is certainly no different. Enjoy the trailer for yourself below:

On top of the trailer there’s also a bunch of new Potter pics that have been released. Take a look at a selection of them:

Even if splitting Deathly Hallows into two parts is really just so WB can effectively double their profits on the last HP film, it’s not exactly a bad thing for fans of the franchise. Yes, it means that audiences will have to wait eight months after Part 1 to find out how the whole story concludes (that’s if they haven’t already read the last book to know) but it also means fans have double the time left to spend immersed with these characters in this fantastic world.

I’m not the world’s biggest Harry Potter fan but I’ll definitely be there on opening day of both parts of the last film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is released on November 19th, 2010, with Part 2 following next summer on July 15th, 2011.

  1. LOL Nautius, yes i wish we had a spoiler thread but we dont u can just put SPOILERS AHEAD if u wanna say something ;)

  2. !!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a scene where Voldemort is clearly telling an old man, “tell me where it is…”. That is Michael Byrne, who is uncredited on IMDB. Not sure if it’s intentional or a typo on IMDB, but he is obviously Gellart Grindewald.

Another observation. There is no one credited playing Albus and Aberforth’s sister. I hope they don’t omit her as she is key to the side plot of Albus’s life.

I just read the book for the third time. It looks like this movie is going to NAIL it this time.

I was very disappointed they left out so much from the previous two books.

    • Nautius: You don’t really see her in the book though do you? That’s the whole point. She’s talked about and thought about but never seen. So unless the movie decides to use flashbacks there is no reason for an actress to play Ariana.

      • True – I guess it will be more referential than explicit. I guess I just had a certain scene visualized based on the flashback in the book.

Also, another thing to note. I don ‘t know the actor’s name, but he is standing in the MoM saying, “You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide”. I am suspecting that’s Thicknesse.

If so, he’s not mentioned either. I think IMDB is not very accurate.

        Is it 11/19 yet?

  3. They changed the Dursleys? O.o

  4. I must say, I does look mighty good at this point. I believe Thickness is played by Bill (Davey Jones) Nighy?

    • Tanx! Potter overload!!

The dursleys are in the movie but for like a minute.

  6. No picture of Hermoine in the red dress? Bummer.

  8. I feel sorry for anyone who is avoiding anything Harry Potter just because they think it might be “childish.” I don’t have anything to prove, I don’t grow tons of facial hair to prove that I’m an adult, nor do I only play Rated M games or Rated R movies, I enjoy great entertainment in any form so I don’t miss out on great movies like the Harry Potter movies, Toy Story, or anything like that. I think it’s pretty sad when some people are just so eager to prove themselves or whatever…

I can’t wait for this movie, November can’t come soon enough! Emma Watson is growing up to be pretty hot too, lol, never a bad thing…

    • Well said, Ken. Your posts usually make me nod in agreement… especially the Emma Watson comment, whoo-eee! She looks good.

  9. Wow Ken J better said than i could ever had said it,i 100% agree :) i love emma.

  10. I’m so excited to see this movie. It’s a bummer we have to wait so long to see the 2nd part. I’m going to have to re-read all the books again while I wait. My favorite books are the last three. GOF & HBP should have been split into two movies each. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate all the plots and characters from previous books that we haven’t seen in the movies into these last two films. November can’t come soon enough for me. Maybe iTunes will release it early like they are with Monster’s. Wouldn’t that be awesome?! I’d pay $$$ to see it early.

  11. @Jenny44
Yeah GOF OOTP HBP and DH shouldve all been split. That would be AMAZING they couldve done that. And those 8 months are gonna be hell.

    • Oh yeah OOTP too. Yes they should have make it a two parter too. I agree 8 months is going to be hell. At least I have the movies and can read the books again.

  12. Jenny 44

    Whats your fave book/movie?

    My book=DH
    My movie=POA

    • My favorite book is DH as well and it’s tough to pick a favorite movie. I tend to watch POA and GOF more often than the other movies. I like certain scenes from each of the movies and sometimes tend to just go to those parts.

Say I was watching HBP the other day and I swear the beginning of that movie is somehow different from another version on saw online. Was there an extended version that came out that I’m not aware of or am I just going crazy? I understand that you’re the person to ask :-)

  13. oooo I hope they do the 19 years later in part two of DH. Do you guys think they’ll get different actors? Or age them with make up/computers??? hope they don’t screw up and make it look horrible! I mean, they have enough money to do it right… and for hells sakes it will be the last scene of HP for EVER :( so i hope they don’t get bored/ sick of HP, and actually do well on this movie!!!!

    • HALEY

They are using the SAME actors! They aged them!!!!!!!!

      • ohhh good. hope they look alright!!! how do you know all of this stuff?!?!? I admire you :)

  14. Maybe I should have said “did” since it’s already all done! I hope they DID it right!!!

  15. Haley

  18. Jenny 44

  19. Harry Potter is such a great series, both the books and the movies. I am sad in a way that it is ending but very happy that these movies will all soon be realized and each are excellent in their own way. There is nothing quite like Harry Potter. Kudos to all involved in the books and the movies. It just doesnt get much better.
