According to PCGamesN, Avalanche Software plans to reveal more information about the gameplay for Hogwarts Legacy at a showcase before its February 2023 release date. Of course, there has been a burning question of whether one character could appear, given his prominent presence in the Wizarding World - Albus Dumbledore.

Dumbledore has a remarkable legacy at Hogwarts, having become the Headmaster for so long due to his incredible wisdom. Dumbledore was a friend, philosopher, and guide to Harry and his friends, giving them just the right advice whenever they required it. With his age and experience came infinite knowledge, and his quotes proved that he was the most sagacious person in the series.

"Face The Choice Between What Is Right, And What Is Easy."

A normal life was not in Harry's fate, and the worst things had happened to him at a young age. Therefore, it would have been easy for him to take the easy path, but on Dumbledore's insistence and guidance, he chose to do the difficult, right thing — defend good over evil by fighting Voldemort.

Dumbledore already knew that Harry would take the tough path because that was his nature, but he also wanted to reassure him that he knew of his sacrifices. Nonetheless, there was true wisdom in his words because the path of the least resistance is most often not the right one.

"But We Should Exercise Caution With Our Curiosity."

There were plenty of life lessons to be learnt in Harry Potter, and Dumbledore allowed his students to experiment and play while also being cautious. When Harry was snooping around the Pensieve, Dumbledore told him that curiosity was a great thing, but he had to be careful, too.

The world ran on curiosity about the unknown, which led to much progress for people, but Dumbledore knew that one could only push boundaries up to a certain extent.

"...And Keep Fighting, For Only Then Can Evil Be Kept At Bay..."

As a character, Voldemort was pure evil. He had twisted magic into something terrible, and the only way good could triumph over him previously was because Dumbledore had assembled forces to fight away the wickedness that was his regime.

Albus knew that evil could never be truly eradicated, and the fight against it was eternal. It could be kept far away with consistent efforts but could not be removed for good.

"We May Come From Different Places And Speak In Different Tongues, Our Hearts Beat As One."

The revived Triwizard Tournament brought together students from different schools across the globe together, which served as another opportunity for Dumbledore to let them know that their differences were superficial, and their similarities were a lot more important.

The Headmaster knew that the future held terror and uncertainty, so uniting young wizards and witches was a big goal for him. He successfully made all Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang students feel connected in their common, human traits than focus on their distinctions.

“Great Deal Of Bravery To Stand Up To Our Enemies, But Just As Much To Stand Up To Our Friends.”

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

Richard Harris as Dumbledore

Although awkward and hesitant, Neville showed that he was one of the best wizards early on in the series. He stood up to his friends when they broke rules, which was a quality that Dumbledore found impressive.

He stated plainly that the courage it took to stand up to loved ones when they were wrong, rather than their enemies, was completely different. It was easier to agree with one's friends even as they did incorrect things, and it showed real conviction and character when one didn't.

"Words Are... Our Most Inexhaustible Source Of Magic."

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Words and language have power, even if spoken callously. As a character in Harry Potter, Dumbledore was a firm believer in thinking before speaking, because cruel, cutting words could have lifelong impact, which could be prevented with some forethought.

This was especially true in the Wizarding World where spells held the most power, but the Headmaster referred to both incantation and everyday interaction.

"It Does Not Do To Dwell On Dreams And Forget To Live."

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

As someone who had been led astray by temptation of dreams and potential scenarios, Dumbledore felt it was his duty to warn Harry to not get lost in these visions, especially the ones that the Mirror of Erised presented to him.

These were just illusions, and Dumbledore encouraged Harry to live his real life to the fullest, instead of getting lost in wily illusions meant to draw people in and forgetting to thrive in real life.

"It Matters Not What Someone Is Born, But What They Grow To Be."

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

Voldemort's agenda of pureblood supremacy over muggle-borns was something Albus disagreed with completely, and his beliefs were often reflected in his speech with his students and professors daily.

He did not believe that anybody was better because of where and whom they were born to, but that everyone had to prove their worth over time, through their actions. A person could grow up to be good or bad, and none of it was dependent on birth.

"It Is My Belief That The Truth Is Generally Preferable To Lies."

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

The old adage says that honesty is the best policy, and Dumbledore, very wisely, agreed with it. Lies only spun complicated webs of deception and gave rise to more lies in turn, so it was better to stick to the truth.

Not only is being truthful virtuous, but it is also easier to live with and tends to not complicate matters. Dumbledore strictly pushed his students towards this trait.

"Those Who Are Best Suited To Power Are Those Who Have Never Sought It."

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter

The pursuit of power changed people, and Dumbledore experienced it himself. He had changed when he chased clout with Grindelwald and could only stop once it was too late. Thus, he believed that the only people who deserved power were the ones who didn't fancy it.

Harry was one of those people upon whom great responsibility was thrust at a young age. He never cherished being in a position of power over others, which made him a fair user of it.
