I suggest going to the website for the 6th movie if you want to learn more, i read all the books but don't want to spoil it. although let me say that this is going to be the movie with the most kissing. can't wait till the deathly hallows, that book is the best of the series by a landslide. I have read all the books and I agree that you really don't have to read them to follow the movies. My only wish is that in the first 5 movies there is at least one scene from the book that I think should have been in the movie to possibly help set some things up in the last 3 movies (Half-Blood Prince and the 2 Deathly Hallows movies).
