Andy says:

Highly unlikely, true, but not impossible. IF I remember correctly, there were later installments in the Jack Ryan novels that had him older and as President. Could it be they are adapting one of those for the big screen?

FlameStrike says:

You are remembering correctly. It was in Debt of Honor where he ascended to the Presidency at the end of the book.

I haven’t read any of the books beyond that, so I don’t know much more than that, though.

Rob says:

what happened to Ryan Gosling?

790 says:

I was never a fan of these films but after seeing Indy 4, well let’s just say even Jack Ryan would be retired at his age.
Besides you can’t beat 24 for this kinda action.

Keitaro says:

I didn’t really like The Sum of All Fears too much, and probably won’t see any more Jack Ryan films based on that. However, if they brought Harrison Ford in, I’d definitely be game – and I haven’t even seen the other Jack Ryan films!

You know I am in my 20’s and I think people give up on actors when they get to a certain age. Eveyone said that stallone, ford, willis, and others were to old to make their sequels but all of them made a good profit and that’s because they can still act and they accept they’ve aged and don’t hide it. I think John Wayne’s True grit was his best and he was in his late 60’s when he made that. Hopefully people accept that these actors age and don’t assume because of it there movies are not going to be good and give them a chance.
