Huh.

That…doesn’t look very good at all, actually.

Then again, neither did Bruce Almighty.

I saw the regular I Am Legend and it didn’t play in front of that either. I like the way it looks. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a high probability it will suck, but I’m optimistic.

ps-The whale bit was funny, but watching him fly was really funny. He’s just like, who cares, no grace. Lot of crazy destruction, too.

Heath, I agree with you. Once again, we have a concept that may work with Smith in the role that would be a guaranteed bomb with the wrong actor.

Heheh, That looks pretty cool. I agree on the flight, it’s like yeah, I’m flying, big deal. I’m glad to see a bit of a different take on Super Heroes. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the serious Super Hero movies too, Hell I can barely contain myself waiting for Iron Man, but it’s nice to see a twist on the Super Hero movie too.

Yeah, something better than “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” would be nice. :-D

The Good: Trailer does its job. Looks very entertaining if handled right. If its representative of the whole, could be the sleeper hit of 2008. The one nobody saw coming.

The Bad: Five writers are given credit for the movie , with the best of them (Akiva Goldsman) having a decidedly uneven record (having involvement with both “Batman & Robin” and “A Beautiful Mind”).

Color me cautiously optimistic.

And yes, the whale bit put me into hysterics :)

Too many trailers is indeed usually a bad sign, but you’re listing “A Beautiful Mind” as equivalent to “Batman & Robin”?

Vic,

Equivalent? NOOOOO!!! :)
Certainly not as equivalent, I was only using those movies to point out that Mr. Goldsman has a rather inconsistent level of output in regards to the quality of his work. i.e. - the script could go either way - and he’s the most prominent name on the list of writers.

Oh! I thought you were lumping those together, not indicating wild swings in quality. :-)

If only there was a writers strike during the Star Wars prequels and Lord of the Rings, so that their shooting schedule wouldn’t have been plagued by rewrites.

Love the look! Will Smith has yet to make a truly bad movie, so I’m think this movie will be 2008 equivalent to Men in Black.

This looks like it’s going to be a good, funny flick. The flying reminded of Ralph Hinckly in the Greatest American Hero tv show from the 80’s.

Now THAT would be a fun movie!!
