I just hope that they will have way more action in the Second movie than the first. And i hated the whole shaky camera, zoom in thing. They should also show some flashbacks from his far past. And if they do all of these things, the movie will do much better. Not that I’m saying the first Hancock was bad, just that it can be improved.

I know sequels are fairly automatic these days – but even though I enjoyed Hancock – I really didn’t think they would do one for it. And it was great to see a “Super Hero with flaws. Well – I don’t know if a sequel will be as good – but of course they had to go for it.

I would have liked to see a sequel, but since they are going more into the “Gods render each other mortal” plotline, then I have no interest at all.

I really enjoyed the first half of Hancock, second half, not so much. I think a sequel has potential.

I’m being cautiosly hopeful about this sequel especially with these new writers onboard. Considering their credentials I’d say they’re trying for a darker and deeper story, but really I just want a satysfying villain (the hook guy was a really poor lex luther clone) and the dialog fixed. I don’t mind cussing but the last one used it way to regulary considering it was rated PG-13 with no rhyme or reason. Plus I really really don’t want to see another get shoved up someone’s but that was just nasty.

Ok, give Ross a break. I think we all know that he meant $600 million.

As I said before, I would love to see a sequel to this movie as long as it is well written and has a fresh idea for the character. We’ve got a superhero that doesn’t have a 50+ year history (i.e Spidey, etc), so the possibilities of what they can do in this film are the same as what the comic writers had for those classic characters…it’s endless. I really like Will Smith flicks for the most part, and I enjoyed the heck out of Hancock. It wasn’t the greatest movie ever made, but it was fun and that is what I expect out of my superhero movies. I say make a really nasty villain (biological mutant similar to Hulk maybe?) that can give Hancock a good run for his money. Done right, this could be a fun movie to watch.

I really enjoyed Hancock, along with Unbreakable, it was a new twist on an old story. The original source material (Tonight, he comes), was quite dark and I’d love to see that aspect explored some more..

Also, on your point re: The Mythology. I have to agree. I only saw Hancock the once but I definitely felt that there were unanswered plot points. The history of their ‘race’ for instance, as well as the whole Eagle thing. I mean, that was hinted at and hinted at and I kept expecting some kind of explanation and none came.

I actually left the cinema thinking, ‘I’ll get it on DVD, then the yack-track will tell me about the plot strings that were lost in the edit, the eagle – yes that’s one of them’

Etc etc.

Yeah the perfect villain for this character Hancock would be Dj Jazzy Jeff! That would be wicked! His weapons would be a razor sharp record vinyls which shoots out of his ass! Lol! Bottomline…Hancock character to me seems like a desperate move from Hollywood just to make quick money and that’s why they have Will Smith on board.But other than that, the story, actions, special effects weve all seen it before..

I don’t know about this one; the first movie worked because it was original and we finally see a superhero with flaws. Where can they go from here? I suppose there could be another one out there that Hancock and his wife didn’t know about…an evil version of their race? Something just tells me though that they will go the evil alien route, which would suck.
