Two new character names from Disney and Lucasfilm's Untitled Young Han Solo Movie may have been revealed, despite the fact that right now, Star Wars fans everywhere are still busy counting down the days until Star Wars: Episode VIII -The Last Jedi is released in theaters later this year, following the release of The Last Jedi teaser trailer at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. After all, just a few months after The Last Jedi is released, Disney and Lucasfilm will also be unveiling the second in their three officially-announced standalone anthology movies, with directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord taking their crack at bringing the smuggler pilot of the Millennium Falcon back to the big screen again.

While many fans had hoped for some kind of announcement about the project would come during Celebration as well, with filming currently underway in England right now, the Young Han Solo Movie was practically nowhere to be seen during the convention. Luckily, though, there are still a fairly consistent level of rumors and reports coming out of the film's production.

Very little is known about the film as of right now, including a majority of its characters. However, a new report from Making Star Wars may have revealed the names of at least two of the mysterious new characters in the film. The first is Mother Proxima, a puppet character in the film that the report states is being operated by Dave Chapman, who fans will remember as being one of the two BB-8 operators on The Force Awakens, and will likely be voiced by one of the film's already announced cast members. The second is a new female character named Val, who has reportedly been involved in several stunt-heavy sequences in the film. While no confirmation on who is playing Val came with the name either, the report states that she reportedly has "top billing" in the cast, and could be who Emilia Clarke is playing, or possibly Thandie Newton or Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Now, make sure to take all of this with a grain of salt for the time being, since none of this is confirmed, and even the report states these names could be pseudonyms being used on the set to mask the character's actual names. Disney and Lucasfilm are being especially careful with releasing news and details about this standalone right now and considering it's (arguably) the Star Wars spin-off being faced with the most apprehension and scrutiny from fans, it's not very hard to see why.

Case in point: Emilia Clarke has said that she feels more cautious talking about Han Solo than Game of Thrones, which should further illustrate just how much secrecy is surrounding the project right now. But while the truth of whether or not Clarke or one of the other actresses is playing Val will likely remain a mystery until the film completes production, this just comes as further proof of the effort Disney is putting into giving women strong and important roles in their blockbuster, tentpole films moving forwards. Not to mention the increase in practical effects with the new Star Wars outings, which looks like it will continue once again with Young Han Solo.
