First remake was actually pretty decent. Second one was complete garabage targeted (opinion) to people that dont know what great movies are. He just added so much crap that was worthless. Sorry but too me House of 1000 crappy shots was crap. Halloween 1 was decent thought he would get it better with the second one, not completely suck. I walked out of the theather. I never walk out. I have never walked out until then. That is really saying something cause I will sit through just about anything.

I liked both of Rob's Halloween flicks, though the director's cut description seems to make more sense to me. Laurie's room looks a little to nihilistic for her in the theatrical cut.
The reason I prefer Rob's take on Halloween over the original is the characters. They act like real people, granted not people you want to be around, but real people, whereas the original has a bunch of cardboard cutouts who do nothing of interest until the last half hour. Plus, the original shows Michael as a seriously disturbed child in the opening, but tries to make him some kind of supernatural boogeyman by the end, which makes no sense at all.

Zombie's Halloween films are really f***ing good.. period. No they are not like the older ones, and thank god for that. I like John Carpenter's original film, but 80% of the sequels were just lame rehashes.. Zombie's stuff is dark and nasty, but also a fresh original take. I fear Halloween 3-D.. more cookie cutter rehash stuff.. now in 3D!!!

I love Rob Zombie's remakes there better than the original ones. the new ones are more realistic and more of common sense.

I loved Rob Zombie's take on the series. I admit, H2 kinda put me off due to the fact what Zombie said would be in it, didn't make it in the film. This director's cut just might be what I was waiting for.

are all you people (most of yuoguys anyways) out of your minds? the old horror movies werent as intense and graphic as the remakes (friday 13th was scarier as jason actually ran after the people instead of appearing infront of them)
i havent seen H2 yet (not released here is australia yet) but will when it comes out, like mentioned before zombie does create the mood of a scene through is directing skills but lacks towards the production side of things, much like Bay and friday the 13th

Kay, well to even organize a film like this takes an incredible amount of patience and time, so I give Zombie a lot of credit, and do find this a truly unique feature. I also give him credit for having the balls to turn directions on the series to a more psychological thriller type film. It was very artistic, and I did enjoy the entire movie, start to finish. I'll admit their were some flaws, but do me a favour and stop comparing this to the original, because it is a movie on its own. It should be pretty clear that Halloween 2 is in no state to be compared to any of the prior Halloween films. Think with an open mind, people.

Halloween 2 was the only movie I have ever actually walked out on. Gore usually doesn't bother me, but all the sound effects and overall disgustingness forced me to leave haha.

Personally I enjoyed Rob's versions of Halloween. The first one he didn't have control of the project like H2. The studio made him film the movie to be somewhat similar to the 1978 Carpenter masterpiece. I'm too interested in the dircetor's cut of H2.

I never this movie in theaters and I will NOT be getting the dvd, either. Rob Zombie NEVER should have touched Halloween, period. I'm sticking to the John Carpenter original.

I dont think anyone can call his directing a talent! He is so far removed from talent that he doesnt even know what it looks like. He remade a classic movie, that could have been made into a decent modern interpretation, instead he made a botch job and followed it up by a sequel that was even worse!!!
To say he has talent and vision is the same as saying Brett Ratner is best director in Hollywood, or that Michael Bay always puts stort first!

I'm very interested in the Directors cut. While Zombie is on the dark side he has a vision and talent that few other horror directors can match. He is the type of director that can literally make you squirm in your seat and make you visualize horrific scenes for weeks after watching his films. Some call it junk and some call it talent, you be the judge.
