The release of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 is right around the corner and is set to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe with faces new and old coming together for a brand new adventure. The hype for the movie’s release is definitely high. It's most recent teaser trailer garnered millions of views within its first 24 hours online, making it the second biggest trailer launch of all time (behind Disney’s upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast).

One of the stars from the sequel has already been given the thumbs up by fans across the globe, with Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) instantly stealing the hearts of audiences. James Gunn has already claimed the character isn’t being used as a marketing gimmick, but serves as a major part of the film's plot and themes. Still, with Hasbro already unveiling some of their planned toys for Guardians 2, some were a little disappointed that Baby Groot wasn’t initially given any attention. It’s likely the company is holding his reveal back until a little closer to the movie’s release date, but now another toy company has revealed its own tiny wooden hand.

NECA (via Comics Alliance) has released photos of the first figure to showcase Vol. 2's Baby Groot, and he's sure to fly off the shelves. The life-size figurine is made out of foam, won’t have any articulation, comes in at 10” tall and is based on the actual digital files which were used to create the character in the film. It’s likely this is going to be the most realistic Baby Groot figure you’ll be able to get your hands on.

NECA’s Baby Groot will cost just $34.99 and is available to pre-order now, but fans who are eager to get their hands on the collectible will have to wait until its expected arrival date of April 2017. The figurine looks like it will be able to slot in nicely with the rest of the Marvel releases NECA have had in the past and will continue to release moving forward. Coupling that with its cheaper-than-usual price may lead to fans will be rushing to buy the collectible in droves.
