Fans can get a sneak peek at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just by checking out the next episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. James Gunn's highly anticipated follow-up to Guardians of the Galaxy finally hits theaters on Friday, and the overall reaction to screenings has been mostly positive. It won't be the last time Marvel fans get to see the Guardians on screen, either, as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is already set and they will have supporting roles in Avengers: Infinity War.

Early ticket sales for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 show that the sequel is on track to beat Avengers: Age of Ultron as Marvel Studios' second-biggest opening weekend. Internationally, it's already opened to $100 million. So clearly, plenty of fans have already gotten their first look at Vol. 2 and many others are waiting patiently for their chance. But ABC is giving viewers a chance to get a glimpse of the sequel -- by simply tuning into a new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The official Twitter account for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tweeted on Tuesday that viewers will get an "exclusive sneak peek" at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that premieres during the episode. It's unclear exactly how much of Vol. 2 will be shown during the episode, but it's likely to be an extended clip of a scene that's already been featured in trailers and TV spots for the sequel.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode, titled 'Farewell, Cruel World!', and it features the S.H.I.E.L.D. team finally escaping the grasp of the Framework. The sneak peek at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be a nice treat for fans who can't wait any longer to get a spoiler-free glimpse at the movie, while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans will simply get an added bonus for tuning in. And it's of course a win-win situation for fans of both.

As far as the sneak peek itself, it's likely that the material won't be entirely fresh. It could simply be a longer version of a scene that you've already seen, which could feel like something of a letdown. But for a sneak preview of a movie that's not out yet, airing in the middle of a TV show, expectations should be low anyway. Ultimately, any free clip of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be worth checking out for fans.
